Good Bad Sexy Sucky Crazy Cancer!

As you all know October is breast cancer awareness month!
And thought i would bring some awareness to my end of the blog world!
Not just about the breast
but about people's experiences with cancer.

Cancer is good.
Cancer is sexy.
Cancer is bad.
Cancer sucks!
However you choose to refer to cancer, in the end it's TERRIFYING!
Sexy Cancer is a reclaiming of how cancer erodes the survivor's sense of beauty and self!
(It's also a documentary).
Good Cancer for me was a way to share my experience with thyroid cancer.
Sometimes i still don't believe i have no thyroid because of cancer.
But i don't and that's all good!
Cancer is bad because it just can be.
Cancer sucks because frankly as soon you hear the word cancer in any kind of diagnosis,
it feels like a death sentence.  But it's not always the case.

However one chooses to express their experience with cancer,
it is their experience
and it should be respected.
During this October, allow individuals to share their experiences as they see fit,
whether it's good bad sexy crazy sucky cancer!

  4. thanx for sharing. am glad that you have put up a good fight.

I have in the last 12 months being surrounded by 2 aunties and 1 uncle who each are fighting their own cancer. Not easy as a caregiver but I am encouraged by successful cases and love to share it with them to encourage them to move on and fight rather than listen to old granny stories.

    thanx again. God Bless:D

  8. When what should have been a routine pap turned out anything but routine and I found out I had cancer cells I was crushed. Having two cousins who had to have hysterectomies before the age of 25 because of cancer I was scared. Luckily mine was caught early. I was able to take care of it. My father has been living with prostate cancer for about 7yrs now. Cancer does not mean death. But we do need to aware of it and take precautions.

  12. Cancer is really a sad word, when I hear it, just like you said, it feels and sounds like a death sentence but it really doesn't have to be! And the good thing is, it can be prevented so I am glad you wrote this post. I will be wearing pink 1x a week this month as a reminder to prevent breast cancer! Thank you so much for your daily readership and I appreciate your support and am honoured to be on your daily inspiration list.

  15. Oh I had no idea that you are a cancer survivor. I'm glad that you were able to beat it. Success stories fill my heart and lift my spirit. I lost my 2 best friends to cancer within the past 2 years. They were both in their mid to late 30s. One had breast cancer and my other friend had brain cancer. It's the most evil thing on earth. I like looking at it from a different perspective.

    xoxo
