Happy Monday Friends!
Hope all your gifts are purchased, wrapped and under a Christmas tree ready to be opened!
And if not...no worries...you still have 6 more days 'til Christmas!
This morning i am feeling a little nostalgic.
I am originally from Canada so i am used to snow sometime
during the first or second week of November
and definitely some kind of snow fall the day of Christ's birthday.
So i am a little underwhelmed there is still NO hint of snow in my section of the country.
There is nothing cozier than waking up on Christmas day morning to find snow falling outside.
The light flickering from the fireplace.
The smell of breakfast cooking in the house.
And the warm smiles and hugs from family and friends.
The telephone calls from families far away calling with Merry Christmas and Happy New Year wishes.
And of course the snow fall continues throughout the day.
Snow accumulation is always the best because you know the rest of the day
will be spent inside, warm and cozy with family and friends.
will be spent inside, warm and cozy with family and friends.
This is what i am used to, Christmas Day with Snow.
And since i don't think there will be snow this year...
i thought i would bring some snow to my blog (and my life)
this Monday morning to put me in the mood of Christmas.
Question of the Day
What puts you in the Christmas mood?

I miss the days of a white xmas as well. I feel like I used to experience it much more often when I was younger. It's a rarity these days...
ReplyDeleteAnd fun to know that you're originally from Canada. Which part? I have quite a fondness for it myself and visit as often as I can :) xoxo
I love this post! I've ever experienced a white Christmas, so this helped me imagine the experience. I think what gets me most in the mood is sitting down with my entire family to watch Rudolph! Have a great week!
ReplyDeletei have never had a white christmas! ive always dreamed of one though (: you reminded me... i haven't wrapped the gifts yet! better get on that (;
ReplyDeleteThe twinkling lights of the Christmas tree at night is what really gets me in the mood for Christmas...it is just SO magical!
ReplyDeleteafter years of living in southern california i now live in a place that could have a white christmas...but doesn't look like it's going to happen. i'm a little bummed, but praying for a miracle. love all your snow pictures.
ReplyDeleteI am definitely not a snow fan, unless I can truly stay inside and not go out in it, but I do admit that it's beautiful. Listening to holiday music always gets me in the spirit!
ReplyDeleteWe haven't had any snow yet either! Your photos are actually making me want some of the white stuff (at least for Christmas morning). The days leading up to Christmas get me in the mood, wrapping, vacation days, hot cocoa, and the music. Heather
ReplyDeletei've only had a couple of white christmases, but they are the best!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post. BUT I dont want anything to do with snow ever again I grew up in the southeast & been in the northeast for the last several years and I am so over it! Snow is beautiful to look at but just on TV. Lol
ReplyDeletei'm also a fellow canuck :)
ReplyDeletemy hubs is complaining that it won't be a white christmas but i'm secretly happy because i don't like the snow or winter! but what puts me in the christmas mood are the decorations, making my christmas cards and wrapping gifts.
Holiday music and wine put me in the holiday mood. I could add cakes, and cookies too! I am not used to snow being a cali girl. I think it looks pretty but I don't want it to be where I live. Too cold!
ReplyDeleteI live in SC and we rarely get snow. However when we do I like it because it's pretty and only last a day what little of it we do get. Christmas music and buying gifts always get me in the Christmas spirit. I'm anxiously waiting for the day to come simple because I'm ready to see how happy my kids will be.
ReplyDeleteI know! I too am saddened by the lack of snow. It just doesn't quite feel like Birthmas yet. :(
ReplyDeleteit is so strange that we have not had any snow this year ... so odd!
ReplyDeletemaybe we'll get a little snow ... but just a little because too much snow drives me batty!
but as soon as it hits December i get in the Christmas mood.
I LOVE the nostalgia that comes with this time of year!! Makes me miss home, but it's also fun making new traditions. And mm... the fireplace... heaven!!
ReplyDeleteThere won't be a snow day for me here, its just overcast and chilly, but I'm all about a roaring fire. Or my gas...if I can't have the roaring. That's what gets me in the Christmas spirit...and the music, of course.
ReplyDeleteI should be wrapping all the last of my gifts today!!

I have to agree! When I think of Christmas-time, I think of snow!! I don't think we will have any around us this year either....
ReplyDeletehey, you! i didn't know you were canadian. :) see, i learn something new everyday. i still have a few more things to pick up, but not that behind in terms of shopping. love the warm cozy photos you posted. those definitely put me in the holiday mood. :)
ReplyDeletehope you're having a terrific week!
jasmine
Christmas lights, peppermint mocha and a roaring fireplace put me into the mood for Christmas! :)
ReplyDeleteChristmas music and December, and my birthday.
ReplyDeleteSnow is nice, but then it gets dirty.
I'm from the Bahamas, so for many years i never associated christmas with cold or snow.
All of these pictures definitely put me in the Christmas mood!
ReplyDeletexmas music always puts me in the holiday mood.
ReplyDeleteI so know what you mean! I come from snow too. And sometimes it just doesn't feel like Christmas without it! But it's nice to be able to look at snowy photos, put on the fire and decorate the house with cheer! It definitely helps to get the Christmas mood pumping! :)
ReplyDeleteYea, i do look foward to having a white christmas too & I hope it happens.
ReplyDeleteFirst time here & nice blog!
I do hope I get to experience snow at least once in this lifetime. I am definitely dreaming of a white Christmas...
ReplyDeletehave a Happy Christmas! :)
the music puts me in the Christmas spirit. That's when it becomes real for me. :)

It's the same for me. To me, Christmas has always meant snow and cold (me coming from Norway and all) but this year it was strange, living in such a warm place where "winter" feels more like spring or fall. But I learnt that the Christmas decorations, lights and music are also a big factor, and actually enough to bring out that lovely Christmas spirit, and Barcelona really is beautifully decorated for the festivities! I'm back in Norway now though to celebrate with my family and friends, and it's real cold and white outside- just like it should be ;-)
ReplyDeleteEven though I despise snow (being an AZ native) I have to admit that gosh, that looks soooooooo refreshing. You have a new follower! =o)
