I have been enjoying the themes which the last two weeks have brought.
Since there are only 2 more days until 2012...

I wanted to begin sharing thoughts and ideas about the New Year's
res·o·lu·tion
[rez-uh-loo-shuhn]
most of us know how to pronouce it BUT
find it difficult to act upon and complete
the ones we make starting the first of the year.
I have probably made the same
New Year's resolution for like ten years in a row.
Usually about losing weight, eating healthier, paying off debt, building a stronger relationship with God including reading the bible.
This year i will not be making any resolutions at all instead i will be living my life everyday purposefully and with intention and in doing this i will be doing all the things i should be doing anyway including: eating right, being healthier including exercising, paying off debt and saving money and having a relationship with God.
I also think it's important NOT only to have action steps, plans,
resolutions, goals for yourself as an individual
resolutions, goals for yourself as an individual
BUT for you and your spouse and family and children.
Making sure everyone in your home has goals/action steps
helps them to live life purposely and with intention throughout the year.

Team Pancakes have already started
discussing and planning our resolutions for next year.
We are making them S.M.A.R.T goals:
Specific, Measureable, Attainable, Realistic, Timely.
Remember we can pronouce resolution
BUT the most important aspect of it is to put it into action.
We need to live purposeful and intentional
while living our S.M.A.R.T goals.
I will be sharing my detailed S.M.A.R.T goals tomorrow!
But in the meantime

Question of the Day
What (S.M.A.R.T) goals will you be making for your New Year's Resolution?
Let us NOT just make WISHES...let us MAKE it come true in 2012! |
I still have to write my new year wishes [SMART goals]. But I know that I will give everything into the capable hands of God.
ReplyDeleteThis was a very motivational post and I could not agree more. I stopped really trying to make resolutions because they would only last halfway into January and then they would blow in the wind. I now make what I like to call life resolutions and I just think that those are things that should stick with me my whole life and not just for one year. It makes it easier that way. That being said, I am going to post about a couple of goals that I would like to add to my life resolutions... I am thinking that will be tommorrow's post. :)
ReplyDeleteI know everyone wants to lose weight in the new year but since I still have 10 pounds of baby weight hanging around, I'd like to lose that!
ReplyDeletehaha I don't normally have any resolution for ny, I just kind of wing it... it has worked so far I guess. but ya keep being healthy and exercise and all would continue to be mine!
ReplyDeleteI just want to pick up my life in 2012. Start over, if you will.
ReplyDeleteI love this post and think it's great to give up on resolutions and just live life purposefully every day! Although I'm still not giving up on trying to lose more weight next year, haha!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I am still thinking about my goals for next year. I am not making any resolutions because I always break them.
ReplyDeleteGreat post.. I agree.. I have progressed from resolutions to goals..!!! Have a blessed day!!!
ReplyDeleteWe had a talk on SMART goals at church last year. It is so good to remember to make your goals something attainable!
ReplyDeleteTwo days until 2012?? Oh my, I wasn't aware of that.. I can't believe this last year went so fast!
ReplyDeleteI love this!! I wasn't planning on making any resolutions but you inspired me :)
ReplyDeleteMy SMART goal is to be healthier! All around!
ReplyDeleteI don't have much time to make a plan! I'd better get to it!
I LOVE this!!
ReplyDeleteI am the worlds WORST resolution keeper... I don't know what's wrong with me. I have NO motivation. BUTTTTTTT that is ending the minute that 2012 rings itself in. Mark my words.
I have to make some changes.
I want to get healthy...
I want to be more positive...
I want to get more active with my children...
I want to walk my dogs more...
Those are some of my GOALS an my wishes... well that the mister will propose soon and we can get wedding planning ;)
Setting SMART goals is so important if you want to succeed! I set new goals for myself all the time, and will post soon about my plans for 2012. Happy New Year to you!
ReplyDeleteMy goals for the New Year are to continue to build the YUMMommy brand, further my writing career, get my masters, get out of my mom uniform and travel more with my kids.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year lady, I'm so glad we've become blog friends. One smart goal is to get 8 hours of sleep daily..
ReplyDeleteOne of my former employers talked about smart goals. Can't remember which one though. I am planning the usual tangible goals with specific time lines and due dates. If I just say next year, my procrastination will kick in and I'll wait until 12/30/12 to get started. No ma'am, not this time.
ReplyDeleteI totally have given up on resolutions too. I like the idea of a smart goal. Take better care of myself, that sounds smart.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by my blog.
