If you follow celebrity news, you heard that Princess Beyonce and her husband, Jay Z
gave birth to a baby girl named Blue Ivy Carter.

Whether it's a rumor or not, that could possibly be the baby's name.
Ivy is pretty. But really Blue?!
Blue denotes sadness to me but oh well, it might hold some meaning to the happy parents.

In honour of the couple giving their baby girl a weird crazy different name,
i thought i would take this Monday to revisit Nine crazy celebrity names out there...
according to Team Pancakes anyway.

In no particular order except for #9, here goes!

1. Christie Brinkley's son, Sailor Lee

2. Mike Myer's son, Spike

3. Spice Girl Ginger's daughter, Bluebell Madonna

4. Gwyneth Paltrow's daughter, Apple

5. Shannyn Sossamon's son, Audio Science

6. Forest Whitaker's children,  Sonnet, Ocean, True

7. Gwen Stefani's son, Zuma Nesta Rock

8. Ving Rhames's daughter, Reignbeau

9. Jason Michael Lee's son, Pilot Inspektor

Pilot Inspektor is probably the craziest name i have ever heard of...
but also motivating factor for the little man to become a pilot inspector!
Pretty cool thinking on behalf of his parents.
NOT!
But in all honesty, all babies are a blessing,
regardless of the crazy names parents decide to give them.
Therefore, welcome to our lovely world, Blue Ivy Carter!

Question of the Day
I know there are many other crazy celebrity baby names out there,
and even some regular people baby names, please help me add to my list.
What other crazy baby names are out there?

  1. I'm thinking Blue Ivy has to have a deeper meaning. Beyonce has a thing for the number 4 and Blue has four letters and JayZ's most noted albums are the Blueprint's and the baby will be the blueprint for their legacy. Also IVy has the Roman numeral four included. I'm just analyzing here. Lol. I wonder what crazy name will be thought of next.

  2. That Ivy Blue thing has to be fake! They were hush hush about having the baby. I do not think they would release the name, but who knows?

  3. What a great post to start the week! It's been great for me as I don't follow these things have come across a few of them for the first time...Seven Sirius (though that is an amazing picture of the two of them!)

  4. I think parents need to be reminded that when they name their children that those kids will have to live up to it if you give your child a name that is out of this world and it's crazy they will be teased and bully let's keep it real people can be cruel, so instead of bring hurt to our children give them names which they won't be teased with. Sometimes I wonder where do they get such names, do they go through the alphabet and just pull all constants together....A word of advice..

  5. You have got me beat on the baby names. I did not know about all of those! I don't think that Blue Ivy is so bad, but I just think that maybe they should have named her Brooklyn since he did say that he would name is daughter that. Then the could have called her BK like her mama.

  6. Great post Cynthia.. I'm not a fan of the name Ivy Blue, I must say though, I have a little niece named Blue... That makes the SECOND Blue I've heard.. : )) I like Brooklyn too.. It's beautiful.I do think naming your child should be special and pertain to things in your life to fit the child perfectly and stay mindful of the idea that you are naming someone and this name should be reasonable.. : ))

  7. I really love the name Seven Sirius. And some of those other names were cool too, like Pilot, and Sailor.

I once read that some people used to give their kids honorific names like "Duke", and "Captain" to force people to honor their kids despite the fact they would probably be discriminated against in a hostile society.

  8. Haha, crazy names! This was the first time I've heard of some of these! I'm one of those crazy people that love (seriously) all names. SO- nothing really surprises me!

  9. Happy Monday Mrs. P

I love the sticky not first off and I did read that they name their sweet baby girl that so cute.

I actually watched a documentary Sat and it was talking about unique names and to come to find there are over 273 different ways people have spelled Unique. How awesome is that.

Now Bluebell Madonna is the strangest name Ive heard thus far.

  10. Great post to start the week! I sometimes wonder what would make a celebrity name their child some of the things they do! It is just crazy!

  11. When I first heard that name I thought it had to be Ivy Blue because in that order it actually sounds prettier so I was surprised to learn it was the other way around. Parents should really think about how their kids will live with these names for the rest of their lives when they come up with them.

  12. Ugh, this are SO terrible! Poor kids! I think the worst my be Audio Science. WHY would you do that to a child?!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Blue is a terrible name, and I also read that Beyonce acted like a total diva, demanding privacy and restricting other parents from visiting their babies in the hospital, including those who were in intensive care. Celebs can be seriously ridiculous!

  14. Your post-it-note was so funny. I said that I was going to call today "Make It Mine Monday" on my fb status this morning when I woke up, LOL!

I cannot say that I am necessarily for or against the name per se'. Being that they are both creative types I am sure there's a method to their madness. As a former preschool teacher, who had 4 Mercedes, 3 Taylors and 3 Tatianas (in varying spellings)in my class and also a product of a fairly unique name myself (Khalilah---like Delilah w/ a "K") I am ALL for unique names. My name is instantly an icebreaker and 9 times out of 10 I won't be forgotten if for no other reason than my name. I did however, know an associate director of a college who was named "Spunky". And I am sure you guys have heard about the twins Lemongello and Orangello (lemon & orange jello, really?).

  15. I like your take on Monday. As for celebrity baby names. I always wonder if they take into consideration how their kid might feel as an adult walking around introducing herself as Apple or himself as Pilot Inspektor!

  16. I still can't believe that Beyonce and Jay-Z named their baby that. Famous parents or not -- That kid is going to have problems.

  17. Those are some CRAZY names!!! I don't get some people.
I'm not sure about Beyonce and JayZ's choice either... but to each their own I suppose?!
I'll stick with the more "normal" names!!

  18. Part of me can't believe someone would name their kid Blue Ivy but another part of me is not at all surprised. I just can't help but think that Blue Ivy is some kind of plant. Oh well. The kid will have everything she wants and her daddy is JayZ. I doubt she'll get teased much. :)

One of the craziest celeb baby names I can think of is Jermaine Jackson's son - Jermajesty. Like "your majesty." Wow. Someone thinks highly of himself...

  19. OurLifeUnrehearsed = WOW, good analysis there, might be very true.

i am glad she didn't select her c-section on 4th jan like her birthday.

well wht do you think of Moroccan Cannon? - in Italy if someone wat to offend you because you are different race or different nationality they use the stereotypical term marocchino (which means Moroccan).

  20. To each his own with what they name their children. I do think celebrities step way outside the box with names, but I guess everyday people do to. I just worry how will a child have their own identity when everyone is the world knows who they are by their odd name.
    I just don't know {shugs}

  21. oh my, some of these are crazy. :)

  22. Not all of those names are that odd. Like "Spike" or "Sonnet." At least the celebrities are trying to find something that is their own...while everyone else is named 'Jennifer' and 'Michael.'

    ReplyDelete
  23. With names like these they have to be celebrity babies to make it work. They really do come up with some crazy or should I say different names. To each it's own. Smh...

  24. Love this post! I was thinking about a bunch of them yesterday after I heard what they named her. I think it's a pretty name but kinda agree with you about the Blue. I'm sure they have some reason. Right? :) xoxo

  25. I think you summed up the crazy names pretty well! I did grow up with a girl name Asusual. We called her U-U.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I always thought Apple was a strange selection but Blue? That tops it definitely.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I always feel so bad for kids who get completely ridiculous names like these! I guess they probably won't be able to live very normal lives anyway, since their parents are famous. But still. I'm sure the weird names don't help. I feel like naming my children is a huge responsibility! They have to live with it FOREVER. It's not just about making a statement or being different.

  28. I'm good with forest whitaker's children's names. But pilot inspektor and audio science? I don't know about that!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm like you...I like Ivy...but Blue, not so much. I think the worst is Apple. What a horrible name for a little girl!

    ReplyDelete
  30. wow that was fast, last I heard Beyonce was just pregnant and now gave birth already. Her baby's name is not as bad as some of the others you've listed. Very true, celebs give their kids the oddest names.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Audio Science is just AS CRAZY...poor kid! I didn't even know Beyonce was pregnant. I need to start watching television, LOL. I do have a friend who named her baby BLUE but in Spanish:AZUL. For some reason in Spanish it doesn't seem or sound sad, to the contrary it denotes kind of like a celestial and very sweet tone. Have a great week friend!

  32. I love the MONday-note. Will start looking at mondays like this when they don't seem to welcome!

Ha, there are a lot of weird/strange/unusual names out there.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I thought that Blue Ivy was a crazy name when I first heard it, but after reading more about the reason behind the name it started to make more sense to me. The name is a tribute to the number four, which is both Beyonce and JayZ's birthday, as well as the day they were married, and Blue is in reference to his Blueprint albums. It's kind of neat to name the beautiful baby you've created after your other labors of love that have brought so much success :)

    Great discussion!

  34. They had a thing on yahoo.com today that explained how they came up with the name. Now that I understand it, it makes a little more sense! Alicia Silverstone named her son Bear Blue I think...weird!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Wow those are so weird! I haven't heard a lot of them, but Pilot Spektor has to be the weirdest! And I think Ivy Blue sounds a lot better than Blue Ivy!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm convinced that people forget that their children will have to get jobs one day and to see the name "Pilot Inspektor" on a resume would go straight into the trash pile.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Crazy names!! I also heard that Beyonce and JayZ rented the whole floor of the hospital for a million dollars..Geesh!

    ReplyDelete
  38. i don't know but i just love strange names ... i think Blue Ivy is gorgeous, haha. i wish i was creative and could come up with a great one, haha.

  39. Seriously?! I'm in hysterics right now!!! Pilot Inspektor!!!??? What is that??
