Here is a disclaimer...i am not hating at all but i just have to ask Ms. JLo (Jennifer Lopez),
CAN YOU PLEASE SIT DOWN!
Honestly, i know she is a celebrity and she needs to make money
and in doing so she needs to continue to dress like she did when she was in her twenties
BUT JLo is no longer in her twenties and needs to STOP wearing tops that show off her mid-riff
(yes i actually said mid-riff)
although TONED...
there is just something weird and a little creepy/awkward about the constant bombardment
of JLo trying to maintain her youth through her music, clothes and commercials.
I recently caught her shooting a new video and her outfit above just screamed NO to me.
I think it's awesome she continues to take care of herself and is maintaining her looks and body
BUT i just don't think she needs to do what she did when she was in her twenties.
None of us should really be doing ALL of the same things we did when we were in our twenties.
Maybe i am just hating because Mr. Pancakes continues to have a massive crush on her.
Or i am just in a bad mood but i don't think so...
i really want to say to JLo,
PLEASE SIT DOWN!
Question of the DAy:
Am i just hating on JLo?
Or should we refrain from bearing our mid-riffs in our twenties when we are in our forties?

This commercial is actually NOT that bad in terms of clothes!!
I with you! She is hot, she is famous, she looks fab...and yes it is time to cover it up!
ReplyDeleteI agree...as gorgeous as she is, there comes a point where none of us can pull off wearing the same thing we did when we were in our twenties!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree...she is gorgeous, however, you shouldn't be wearing the same clothes in your 40's that you wore in your 20's. I don't think that is hating on her, I just think it comes with maturity! And she has more than enough money, so its not like she has to do all this extra stuff because she is starving for money...she can still be sexy in something more age appropriate!
ReplyDeleteHmmm...I agree and disagree with you. Perhaps even though I'm still not her age, I am now just as close to 30 as I am to 40, she gives me hope. :) I think as a society we value youth a little too much. I don't necessarily think she is trying to hold onto her youth, but I feel that once celebrities and regular women reach a certain age that people believe that they should wear Mom jeans (nothing wrong with Mom jeans, but they are not currently in style), not show their bodies and otherwise step to the side. While I am not a huge J-Lo fan (of her music and otherwise), I think she shows that you can still be sexy, have a good body, be a mother and successful in your 40's. Maybe the short top wasn't such a great idea, but at least she can pull it off.
ReplyDeleteWhen a woman gets a certain age and have a family you must set your standards better, if you don't your kids grow up thinking that it's okay for them to dress the same way. Now has she had no children or no hubby then she can do as she please but in life we only get one chance to keep a good name what will your character speak about you?
ReplyDeleteI so agree with you! It is good that she takes care of her body, but I don't need to see it! =)
ReplyDeleteI think she looks fine. Clothing rules should be for children. If she feels comfortable then it's a good look for her.
ReplyDeletei have to say i'm with you. she needs to just tone it down a bit. or something.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you 100%! Seriously, nobody wants to see a woman her age, my age either, bear her belly. She does look fabulous but she needs to dress/act a bit more age appropriate. xoxo
ReplyDeleteShe does need to tone it down some she is of a certain age and she can still dress sexy and nice without having to show everything. She will probably be doing it in her 60's at this rate
ReplyDeleteAmen.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I feel the same way about Jennifer Hudson. Her weight loss commercials annoy me so much. It's awesome what she did but the song she keeps singing just GRATES on me!
I don't think you are hating, I think it's true. I think she is in great physical shape and has a nice body but that doesn't mean she has to bare it all.
ReplyDeleteShe has nice body and even without showing the belly off one can tell she has the body, so maybe is good to dress classy and not... I am not very into these celebrities sexualising themselves in the industry. it seems as if women should always were sexy things to be accepted in the main stream.
ReplyDeleteI agree too. As an entertainer you need to evolve with the times and with age. Maybe that's why she's into dating younger men...she thinks it justifies her 20's outfits!!!
ReplyDeleteI know that a lot of people might disagree but I feel like you are as old or young as you feel. There is no reason a woman who looks that great and feels that great about herself should have to dress a certain way or behave a certain way. If we stop letting society put a pressure on the way women are supposed to look or behave at a certain age then it will stop being a problem.
ReplyDeleteTOO funny! I totally agree!!
ReplyDeleteI'm in my 20s and never bare my midriff, since I really don't think anyone wants to see it! LOL. But if I looked like J Lo, I might figure what the heck and go for it.
ReplyDeleteOh chic! I feel the exact same way!
ReplyDeleteActually, I almost spit out my drink when I was watching the Oscars and this was said:
Cameron Diaz:
Edith the one brilliant costume designer once said: A dress should be tight enough to show you’re a women.
Jennifer Lopez:
And loose enough to prove you’re a lady. She won eight Oscar’s the most of any costume designer in history.
Ummmmm, since when has Jennifer Lopez worn an outfit that is loose enough to prove she's a lady? I thought it was funny that they had her read that quote...
lol too funny! maybe she is trying to keep up with her baby face young boyfriend ;-)
ReplyDeleteHmmm it doesn't bother me. If she feels good and is comfortable in what she wears more power to her! The thing is I've seen a lot worst than JLo in Hollywood so she doesn't phase me. Heck if I had twins and could show my belly I would so be up for it! I have no kids, younger than JLo and I wish my belly looked half as good, haha. Maybe she is proud of her hard work as she should be :)
ReplyDeletei think part of her is trying to keep up with her boyfriend who is half her age! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI think midriffs are out most of the time. Haha. But definitely after your twenties! Even if you do look good you can find other ways to show it! It is weird how much of this stuff celebrities get away with when no one else would be able to!
ReplyDeleteLOL yeah she needs to cover it up, but I can't hate on her she is REALLY out there these days, clothing line, idol, q'viva its just doesn't end :) Then again, if I had that kind of body after twins.......
ReplyDeleteNot hating at all. I am against midriff baring tops after the age 20. It's a DONE DEAL.
ReplyDeleteHaha! You're not hating hun, you're just being real!
ReplyDeleteAlthough she is gorgeous & has an absolutely amazing body, it is time that she covers up.
xx
You are not hating, just stating the truth! I'm in my twenties and have never worn a crop top. I just don't get the point of them. I think that trying to hold onto your youth makes you seem older. She's too pretty for that. :)
ReplyDeleteIts so funny you posted about this. I was just talking to my mom after viewing either her Fiat commercial or Kohls. "isn't she a little too old to be dressing like that?". It's not that she isn't pretty but I think once you become a mom for one thing and over a certain age you should carry yourself differently
ReplyDeleteThat Kohls commercial kills me! She looks sooooo old in it. Granted, she looks better than the average 40/50 yr old chick, but not like the sexy temptress that I believe they were going for.
