New Adventures...

Again...today i think it's Friday!!
I guess i want Friday to come because we will be on a flight tomorrow for a mini-vacation.
A belated wedding anniversary gift for Team Pancakes.
We are heading South!!!

Mr. Pancakes attended University in the South
and has always had a love affair with the South.
Since we met he has been trying to sell me on his dream of living there.
He always says i would get my big house.
He would get his peace and quiet.
And our future children (which is now a reality)
would have excellent manners and a great education.
I have always been intrigued by his dream and this weekend it's coming to fruition.
The furthest south in the US I have been is Atlanta.
For this trip, we are heading a little more south to Tennessee.
And i am excited for this new adventure.
We are visiting some of his college friends, two of them who are now married.
They are eagerly awaiting our arrival and we are sure
to receive some Southern Hospitality.
I can't wait to meet everyone and make new friends...our possible future neighbors.
Can you tell I'm excited about this new adventure...

For those who live in the South...
what are some of the things i should try and experience
if i am thinking of moving down there?
What questions should i be asking?
What's the best mall to visit in TN?
For those who don't live in the South...would you ever consider it?

P.S: i will be away from Blogger all weekend
but shall return Monday with all the fun details.
Enjoy your weekend!!

  1. Yay for the South, and especially Tennessee!! I hope you have a wonderful trip! You'll love, or at least laugh at, the accents. Enjoy the cool mornings and warm afternoons. Enjoy the beautiful land and scenery. There is a church on every other corner in most towns, so just look and visit until you find one that fits you. If you are in the Nashville area, you can check out the Franklin square, it's a cute area. Be sure and drink some sweet tea! I hope you have a fantastic weekend and a lovely Southern experience :-)

  6. Well I live as far south as one can possibly go...FL! LOL! I like it but hubs and I have talked about moving to the MidWest. I will say that when I think of "the south" I don't usually put florida in there cause from visiting Tennessee and MIssissippi and GA and stuff I think they're so very different from FL. I have a very keen love for GA.

  7. I live in the south and it will always be my home. I have also visited the north and I have loved it but the cold runs me away. Have a safe trip and you may not want to leave.

  9. The best thing about the South is the food hands down. Since it's summer I would say try barbecue and ribs. I'm completely obsessed with barbecue.

  11. I'm a southern girl. Louisiana and Texas are my states. Try and get some bbq; not the chain stuff, find somebodies bbq shack and let loose! Fresh air via pine trees! I think you'll love it. Have fun.

  16. If I remember correctly University of the South is kind of near Chattanooga which is a beautiful part of TN. Lookout Mt and some other great views! The best malls are near Nashville...in Cool Springs, Green Hills, or even Opry Mills. Hope you have a great time!

  18. Oh, I can't wait to hear your recap. I haven't technically been down south yet either (I have been to New Orleans but it was for work so it doesn't count). But I'm in love with it...for the food alone:)

  19. Okay so I live near Bristol. You are coming to Tennessee during a wonderful time of the year. Besides the Fall when the leaves change the Spring/Summer is wonderful. Beautiful weather. I'm not sure where in Tennessee you are visiting but if it's Nashville, you have PLENTY to do! Chattanooga is also a wonderful place to visit! I am excited for you to see Tennessee and I am sure you will love it!

Also, I’ve tagged you in my 11/11 post. Head over to my blog and check it out then copy and paste, answer the questions and tag some of your friends!

  21. I thought of you today! I found a recipe on pinterest for a new pancake I've never made! I'm trying it out tomorrow. If we love it, I'm sending it to you! :o)

Ohhh, Tennessee. How I love this state. I'm not sure what part you're visiting, but I've been over all of it and can attest to the truth that it is a wondeful place to raise a family. I was born and raised in Memphis, TN where you will not find more soul in a city. Do not let people tell you it is too dangerous/shady to raise a family in. I love that city with all my heart. It has it's bad parts, but I always prefer to see the good in a place rather than it's (for lack of a better word) ghetto.

I currently live in middle TN, close to Nashville. I've only been here 2 years, but I could see myself living here forever. People are kind, school systems are good, and the overall feel you get down here is relaxed. No hustle and bustle of the city, just pure, country living.

My mom's side of the family lives in East TN, Knoxville, particularly. If you are the outdoorsy type, I highly recommend this area. I love coming here to visit family and friends.

Any specific questions you have, email me! I have no doubt you would love Tennessee! I've been all over the world and the single place I'd choose to raise my family is right here! (And if you move here, we are getting lunch or something! I'd love to meet a fellow blogger!)

  26. So as a MD transplant from Nashville I wish I had seen this earlier! I'm hoping though since your hubby LOVES pancakes he took you to the Pancake Pantry in Nashville near Vandy! There's usually a wait on the weekends but its SO worth it! And he's so right - you can get your big house for half what you'd pay for a much smaller place on the far east or west coasts! Hope you had a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

  27. Mrs. P

I've missed you. I def think you should move to the South and this is coming from a Southern girl.

You have the most amazing food to look forward to, the most beautiful sunny weather and the comfort of a small town!

    Enjoy your trip pretty girl.

I think you will enjoy the south, if nothing else the weather usually seals the deal. ;)
