To iPhone 5 or Not?!

I know everyone is going crazy over the iPhone 5.

I have the iPhone 4 and didn't get the 4s because i figured the 5 was coming.
At this rate...i am sure the brains behind Apple will come up with an iPhone 5s or iPhone 5.5...
i am being a bit cynical but how many new iPhones can they come up with?
I am sure plenty more because all Apple has to do is
tweak or add a few thing and they consider it a new product instead of an upgrade.

Last night we saw a Samsung commercial poking fun
of Apple and iPhone without mentioning their name...because that would be tacky.
Needless to say the commercial and other articles I've read made me think...
is it really worth it to buy a new iPhone just because there are a few new changes.
Including a lighter weight, thinner, aluminum back cover,
the touch technology is integrated right into the display,
 larger/taller screen,
it runs faster (iOS 6),
voice quality is better,
the camera is superb,
new earpods, new location of the earphone jack,
 lightening connector.

Most of the changes appear to be fluff to me but then again i am not a very techy person.
I am sure the iPhone 5 is the best smart phone ever created...
But does that mean that i need one?
I know for sure i don't NEED to get it...
do i WANT to get it...of course i do.
Am i going to get it....the jury is still out on that one.

Over 2 million pre-orders suggests the iPhone is a WANT for many people.
Or is it a NEED?

Question of the Day:
Are you getting the new iPhone?

Phew, Baby Pancakes just woke up...gotta go!
Have an awesome day!!

  1. i think if a bigger screen size is something that appeals to you, you might want it. my husband wants a larger phone so he's getting his tomorrow. when he gets it ill look it over and compare it to my phone and let you know.

  2. Not! I'll wait! I have the 4 too...there's nothing wrong with my phone (knocks on wood) so I'll wait for better changes!

  3. i have the 4s ... i'll be waiting. there are no changes made in the new one that i feel that i MUST have ... i'll just wait til the 6 comes out because you know that will happen, haha.

  4. I saw that commercial too. It was hilarious. If the earphone jack is on the bottom of the phone, that would not work for me because of how I carry my phone around in its case on my hip when I'm on the headset and moving around at the same time. I have the 4S and the only way I'll get the 5 is if my husband decides to upgrade from his blackberry (in which case he'll take my current phone), but he's in no rush and neither am I.

  5. I do like the bigger screen size, but I don't want to waste the money on a 5. I have a 4s that I got when it came out last year, and it works just right for me! =) Good luck deciding!

  6. I am not getting an iPhone. I LOVE my android phone. I know...I am probably one of a dying breed but I refuse to switch. My husband wants an iPhone next though. We'll see...

  7. I will be passing the iPhone 5. I was once considering it but when I heard you couldn't use memory cards and they don't have WiFi, I decided to stay true to my Droid. I don't like the idea of my photos and videos having to live on my phone solely unless I use an app to transfer them.

Plus, Apple is smoking some serious stuff with these prices. There so many phones out now that do what the iPhones do and have more features. At this point, I don't think people are buying the phones for the technology but just for the name.

  8. I have the 4 as well and I like it. A bigger screen is pretty cool though. I did update to the ios6 and I really like that. But I think I'll wait to get the 5

  10. I certainly don't think it's worth it to upgrade for a few changes and so I'm not going nuts over i phone 5. I have the 4 and I love it so I'll stick with it even though my contract is up in December. That way, if I lose it or it starts acting up or something crazy happens then I'll be good to go to get a new one.

  12. LOL, that commercial cracked me up!! I have the 4, and have an upgrade coming up in October. My home button is pretty much non responsive on my 4 right now, so I know I AM getting something new in Oct with my upgrade. I considered just getting the 4s and saving myself $100, but I know myself, and I know if I don't just splurge for the 5, I will be wanting the 5s or 6 when that comes out and I am sure I won't be up for an upgrade yet!! :-)

  13. Yes, great commercial! Just ordered the Galaxy S3 yesterday and can't wait for it to arrive. I've done a lot of research over the past couple months and the SIII won out. DH was an iPhone user and made the switch years ago and swears by Android now. We'll see how I like it. . .

  15. I'll be doing the software upgrade on my 4S. That will satisfy me for now. By the time I'm eligible for an upgrade there will probably be a new iPhone out, LOL!

  16. it seems as if you are in my mind. i have the iphone 4 not because i was desperate to have but because my ipod was damaged and my phone contract expired so i figured it was worth the upgrade but i don't need a new iphone 5 and as you mentioned soon they will have another iphone 5+

  17. I'm not going to be getting the new one, I have an iPhone 4 and love it. I think my husband is getting the iPhone 5. I don't think I'd change unless there was something wrong with my phone...good luck with your decision! xoxoxox

  18. I'm not getting the new one. I have the 4, have no issues with it, and will HAPPILY await my next upgrade. I will never be one of those people that have to have the newest gadget that isn't even that different. Sorry folks...it's a scam! Haha.
