Happy Monday Friends!
I used the picture above because many of us will NOT make our money playing the slots, lottery
and or have the man showing up from the Publisher's Clearing House.
It truly makes me sad when i see people buying lottery tickets at the gas stations.
When i think of the probability of winning the lottery (which is like 1/1000,000)
or being struck by lightening before winning the lottery,
you bet Team Pancakes is not spending it's hard earned money on the lottery.
And in the end, the lottery companies end up making the money
and the idea of giving someone FREE money so they can get richer doesn't bode well with me.
I am NOT preaching just stating my opinions.
So knowing i will NOT win money from the slots, lottery and or PCH,
the primary thing i can do is to make money and KEEP as much of it as possible!
After all, we all hear of individuals who hit the lottery and end up going broke.
I have a family member who would diligently study the numbers trying to hit the jackpot.
And she hit a few big ones here and there BUT in the end,
she probably spent more money buying the lottery tickets than getting winnings from the tickets.
In the end, i have learned it's NOT a good idea to make money just to gamble it away.
That's the number lesson for this week.

Question of the Day:
What's the number one lesson you've learned about money?
I completely agree!! I have never gambled, I work too hard to give it away for a "chance" at something greater! My biggest lesson is saving something small can lead to something big!
ReplyDeleteI have never gambled because I am not lucky. Biggest lesson I learned about money is that I have to think before I buy is it a need or a want and do I have something else in my home that can take the place of what I want.
ReplyDeleteI actually have started playing the lotto lately and fortunately for me I've won everything I've ever spent back... But my money lesson would be everything in moderation. I try to pay myself first and not to splurge on items I dot really need just becuz I have the money to get things doesn't mean I always should! :) embarrassing moment: being at trying to find a business card for another atty and pulling out a lotto scratch off ticket hahaha all I could do was laugh!
ReplyDeleteI think one of the most important things about is to avoid spending beyond your means! I had a bit of this problem when I was younger and am doing what I can to come back from that. great post!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I've never really gambled -- except maybe a few dollars just for fun while on vacation -- since I feel it's definitely a waste of my time and money. The biggest lesson I've learned is to be open and honest about my finances and to set reasonable goals.
ReplyDeleteI do not gamble. I think it is a waste of time and money. I learned it is just better to save than put hope into winning the lottery! Great post!
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree! We've definitely scratched a few tickets from Christmas stockings or White Elephant exchanges, but I honestly don't think I've ever actually purchased one.
ReplyDeleteI just think about how much money all those people would have if they just saved that $5 or $10 a day!
I learned that I have to pay for things without using credit. It was a hard lesson, but I'm credit-free for 5 years and running! :)
ReplyDeleteOne lesson that I already knew, but recently reminded..... is to pay for things with cash. Credit cards are evil, I look forward to be debit free and never going back. ;)
ReplyDeleteHaha Mrs. P I do gamble but I have recently stopped now I spend money online shopping.
ReplyDeleteEeeekk that's why I am looking forward to your tips :)
Ps. Don't forget to enter my giveaway.
I never play because I am positive that I'm not destined for this type of luck....
ReplyDeleteI am so on the same page! It's like lighting it on fire but I think that might be more entertaining. I'm not a gambler in the least bit. I work hard for my money. :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Through the years I have learned a lot about money. some of the lessons I have learned is not to love it or worship it and that it cannot buy you happiness.
ReplyDeleteI'll buy a lottery ticket here and there. But mainly it's just to dream about what I would do if I hit the lottery. I love dreaming big!
ReplyDeleteMy number one dream if I ever hit the lottery is to open up an animal shelter! There are so many little furry ones who need a loving home! :)
I played the odd lottery nums here and there but dont do it anymore. I never owed my own credit card. I prefer debit if i have the money to use then okay if not then no buying
