Wedding Flowers

To say i was in love with my wedding flowers would not be enough.  It was exactly the colours i wanted and the fullness. It brought vibrancy to my wedding like nothing i could have imagined.  As soon as i saw my wedding flowers, i  teared up and it finally hit me that i was getting married!  I had no idea flowers could that you!

I recently recommended my florists to a co-worker who is about to get married.  However, another co-worker, who recently got married too, reported that she had used an online flowers  service and of course i was intrigued.  Online flowers, i thought would be expensive.  However, she reported that Serenata Flowers worked with her to provide the best flower delivery service for her church ceremony and wedding reception.  She liked the fact that she had complete control over picking and choosing flowers.

Beautiful Smile - unusual flowers

I wondered how she could pick flowers for all her wedding needs when she hasn't seen it.  Of course she said she went online to check out flowers on wikipedia that would enjoy.  It completely worked for her.

My co-worker who is getting married appreciated both recommendation of a local florist and an online flower delivery.   I am not sure which one she will use but oh well, at least we gave her two options to choose from.

How did you get your flowers for your wedding?

local florist, all the way...I had specific wants & I knew I wouldn't be able to communicate what I wanted over the phone or via email. Plus, by meeting in person I was able to trust my florist to use her creative ability instead of worrying about what the flowers would look like!

I used a local florist and I was very happy with their services. I knew someone who ordered flowers from Sam's Club for her centerpieces and they worked out great!

LOL, I made a fake flower bouquet, so I get to keep it forever. We didn't have flowers on the table, b/c we only had 40 people at our actual wedding and we just ate at a restaurant the way you would for the "rehearsal dinner". We had a luau reception the next day and had fake hawaaian type flowers in wine bottles on the tables w/seashells, etc. So, I went all fake! I would have cried when all of my flowers died!

We used artificial flowers. We were on a very tight budget, so we actually went to the craft stores and made our own. I loved carrying the floral piece that I put together myself. I would recommend having someone help you that knows what they are doing...usually the people in the store have a floral specialist.
As far as online, not sure if I would go that route for my big day.

Flowers are such a huge part of the wedding day! Because they really stand out in pictures. My wedding flowers were done by a woman who also did my sisters' wedding flowers. She used to be a florist and is retired now. I loved that she did it because she could focus on just my wedding and she did a wonderful job!

I actually got silk when I did mine...I am the kind of girl who loves flowers, but hates the "waste" it makes me sad when they die, and I wanted to keep my flowers. I went to a small wedding shop in my hometown, and got a great deal on my wedding and flowers! The silk flowers were $100 for the whole wedding party, and were such good quality everyone thought they were real! I didn't have to worry about them wilting or anything. 8 1/2 years later I still have them tucked away in my wedding memories box.

I'm a little behind, but stopping by from the We Are Canadian blog hop! http://ww.theknitwitbyshair.com

I had a local florist for our wedding. She sat down with me a few months before the wedding and I flipped through a book and pointed out things I liked. She was great and actually went out of her way to give me options like choosing a less expensive flower that looked similar to the ones I wanted.

I used a local florist! :) Not only do I love the idea of using a local company but I loved that I knew where my flowers were coming from and could do in and see what I wanted and work with a person. I LOVED my flowers, they were probably my favorite thing about the wedding - aside from my handsome groom of course! ;)
I'm glad the online flower company worked for her, however, I would have been too afraid that something would go wrong working with a company online. My husband sent me flowers on time when we were dating and I was living a state away and we learned our lesson then. The flowers weren't only, mediocre at best, they died in less than 3 days. Boo.
