The rest of the Sunday is all about being lazy and spending time with each other. We had an awesome brunch with Grandpa Pancakes and that tired out little man...poor baby! And now we are off to spend the afternoon with our 96year old Church Granny! Today is definitely a blessed day! Hope your Easter Sunday has been awesome thus far! Here are some scenes from our Sunday!!

#ProjectMilf: Week 8 Review

4 Go Team Pancakes!

Week 8 of #ProjectMilf is all about Reviewing our progress.
Looking at where we've come from and where we are coming.
What we've learned about ourselves, our strength, our commitment to ourselves.
We are going to be honest in our reviews so we can continue
Week 9 with awesome dedication and commitment
to getting our sexy confident selves.
I know some of you committed to the project and for life reasons
you haven't been able to join but what this project
is teaching all of us is that "it's never too late" to try and achieve your goals come true!

My Review:
I first wanted to be part of this project because i knew i needed
something or some bodies to keep me accountable!
I wanted to face myself and challenge my love
affair with procrastination and doubt.  I am usually a confident person
but just sometimes I allow those two to get in the way of becoming successful.
The more weeks pass by, I am reminded that
so much of becoming a MILF is my responsibility.
No one is going to go to the gym for me or eat the way i should be eating.
I am master of myself.  I am the captain of my soul.
And in realizing this, I have a lot of work to do
to push procrastination and doubt aside,
but i feel so much more powerful in my own skins...most days.
I am a Motivating and Inspiring Leading Female in progress
and that's a goal worth reaching.

1) Healthy Lifestyle Change
I haven't done as much working out as I need too the last eight weeks.  But i have seen some changes in the way my clothes fit which is awesome.  That's always motivation to continue working and eating properly.
This week was alright...I worked out a few times but watching my eating was the most important thing I worked on.  Also i got my hair done and didn't want to work out too much but that excuse is so lame..i almost didn't write it down but i want to be honest with myself.  Today begins full workouts again.

2) Emotional Wellness
Overall, I have been doing well emotionally.  Hubby and I are on the same page when it comes to family related plans which is great.  I do need to continue to work on doubt and procrastination because sometimes I allow it to creep into my daily life which is NEVER a good thing.  Thank goodness I have a hubby that reminds me to be positive and what I say and think is what's going to come true!!
3) Spiritual Fortitude
I so need this more and more everyday and I just need to carve out sometime during my day to read my Bible and to be spiritually fed.  I have been listening to music in the morning which helps me! But i so need to continue feeding!!

Dear Anonymous...

14 Go Team Pancakes!
Dear Anonymous,

Please STOP commenting on my posts.
I do not need to know that you really like the content on my blog.
I do not need you to leave an obscure comment about fake Gucci, Versace bags and clothes.
I do not want to buy anything you are selling.
I do not need you to leave some bizarre string of letters that do not make any sense.
If I didn't find word verification codes annoying...I would have shut you out a long time ago.
I enjoy getting comments BUT NOT FROM YOU!
You've left like a million comments on one of my posts and I've gone in and deleted every single one of your comments and turned off the comment button...that gets annoying!!

The crazy thing is I don't even know if you are an actual person or a computer generated thing
but whatever you are JUST. PLAIN. ANNOYING!!!!

You will probably comment on this post too...
but at least leave a comment that you will never ever comment on any of my posts again.
Thank you! And do not come back!

Ever so annoyed,
Mrs. Pancakes

Currently Obsessing Over...

3 Go Team Pancakes!
Good Monday morning Friends! It started snowing in my neck of the woods this morning...whatever happened to Spring coming in like a lamb?? Anyway I wanted to share some of the things I'm currently obsessing over and they include: ALL THE GAMES ON MY IPHONE-words with friends, hanging with friends, gems with friends--I love them all. I'm obsessed with Dance Moms. Following the Bachelor couple Sean and Catherine on twitter. Trying to solve Rubix cube on my iPhone. Number munchers-sharpening my math skills for fun because someday Baby Pancakes is going to need help on his math homework!! And of course Baby Pancakes who is doing so much...I will have to brag on him in a separate post!!! What are you currently obsessed with??

Longlazysunday: Week 20

6 Go Team Pancakes!
Good Afternoon ladies!! More than anything I want to be lazy this longlazysunday but my little sweetheart of a man is definitely not having it. He has been up since 6am! So we went to early Church service which was awesome because we were able to do some running around. And still have most of the day ahead of us. We are home now and Baby Pancakes is moving all around the place, trying to knock the tv down and I am so tired I need a nap!!! These are the days I wish I had my mom around. Mr. Pancakes is taking a nap and I'm waiting for my turn! One fun thing about today so far was my McDonalds breakfast!! What have you been up this longlazysunday???

#ProjectMilf: Week 7

3 Go Team Pancakes!

Good Morning my fellow Motivating Inspiring Leading Females (#MILFs)....
I was definitely having some technical difficulties this morning but we are back on track.
#ProjectMilf is coming along for everyone and the more weeks pass,
the more I get excited for myself and everyone else.
What an awesome community it is to be part of.
Week 7 is all about Motivating Someone.
How do you encourage and motivate yourself.
And what are you learning about yourself in order
to motivate someone to meet their goals on a daily, weekly basis?

Let us in Week 7 motivate each other and someone who is following along.
Tia Mowry last week shared ways she can motivate others in her article.
Here are some ways she wants to motivate others to reach their goals:
Think like an athlete
 Trust your positive side
Make it easy for yourself
Find a buddy
Do it when you DON'T feel like it
Make it fun

Now let's hear about your Week 6....
what something did you subtract from your week?

My Weekly updates:

1) Healthy Lifestyle Change
This week i KICKED ASS!!! I am just bragging on myself a little today.  I subtracted doubt from my life this week!  I kicked Procrastination out and became the captain of my soul and took care of business.  I ran my second half marathon.  I didn't finish in the time I wanted but since I didn't train (the way I should have) my only goal was to CROSS THE FINISH LINE and that I did. It was challenging 3hrs 58mins and when my body wanted to give up on my, I continued to self talk and I ran across that finish line and got that meddle.

2) Emotional Wellness
Just subtracted doubt this week was emotionally awesome for me. And of course the support of my husband and son made it all the better.

3) Spiritual Fortitude
I saw this phrase on the back of people's t-shirts while running and that helped tremendously: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens."  I truly believe this.

Blogging & Sleeping Blues

19 Go Team Pancakes!

Yesterday I was definitely on a high and I still am
but lately I've been feeling the Blogging & Sleeping Blues.

I want to blog more, I want to read more blogs...
I want to sleep more, I want to sleep more...
I want to blog the way I did before I had a baby
and I know i can't and shouldn't even wish for that...
But sometimes I really miss blogging like I used to....

But then again I miss being able to sleep the way I used to...
I miss sleeping in on Saturday...
I miss cuddling up to my husband for hours at a time...
I miss spontaneous hanky panky...
(well that kind of happens sparingly..TMI, i know!)

In many ways I have accepted my new role as mom
and I LOVE it but sometimes just sometimes...
I want to be able to blog and sleep a little longer...
I am in awe of mothers that are able to write thought provoking blogs
and read other people's blogs at the same time...
And look refreshed and awake doing so...

Most nights I can't even find the time to wash his bottles because
although Baby Pancakes is crawling, standing and moving around the house...
he still needs to have me close to him.
We've tried the playpen and he HATE it
because it contains him and my baby will not be contained....
I am thinking I need to be mean-mommy and just let him cry....
But of course he has mastered crying in decibels...
he starts off real low and then if we don't get to him in time...
he takes it up a few more decibels...

That child of mine...I LOVE him but sometimes just sometimes...

I am feeling guilty as I write this because I know I am blessed
but I felt like being honest with myself today....

Motherhood is everything I thought it would be and so much more....
I knew I would miss blogging but not this much...
I knew I would miss sleeping but not this much...
I knew I would miss having couple time but not this much...
I knew I would LOVE this little boy but not this much!

When it's all said and done...blogging & sleeping blues aside...
Most times I wouldn't have any other life but this one!!!

Thank you all for sticking around and reading while
I find my way back to getting enough sleep to blog again!!
I appreciate it more than you will ever know!!!

Question of the Day:
Do you have any blues you wanna share?

Monday High...

9 Go Team Pancakes!

Mondays have never been my favorite day
but this Monday I am feeling great...I am on a Monday High...
My recovery day yesterday was awesome
and today I can actually move around a little more...
which is great because last year my recovery time took really really long.

There are many things I am feeling grateful today for...
You know some days life just feels a lot sweeter than others....
When nothing can ruin your day...not even an early morning...
When everything feels awesome and great...

During my half marathon...I realized after 12miles that
"there is nothing that is impossible."

Crossing the finishing line to my baby and hubby reminded me
"life is beautiful because of who i get to share it with."

Seeing my baby boy smile melts my heart every single time.
Watching him stand tall against the couch and
figuring out if his legs are sturdy enough for him to take a a magical time.
These moments remind me just how special these moments truly are....
and how fleeting time is...
And how I am enjoying and savoring every single second.

My husband giving me a high five after the race reminded me what a team we are.
Him reminding me to drink more water and move
around to get the blood in my legs circulating....tells me how much he loves me.
Seeing him smile at me through the corner of my eyes makes me know how proud he is.
And it's even better when he says:
"you are my super woman and I am so proud."

Life is definitely sweet today....
and I can definitely get used to this Monday High all week!

Question of the Day:
What makes your Monday High?

Longlazysunday: Week 19

7 Go Team Pancakes!
Longlazysunday is all about recovery. The half marathon yesterday was one of the hardest things I have ever done. I was definitely more in shape last year while pregnant than now but I crossed the finish line just under four hours!!! Not bad for someone that did not train at all. The only thing different this year is that my recovery is coming along a lot faster than last year. I did feel like a ton truck hit me after the race but at least I can move around a little bit more today. Baby Pancakes is definitely taking an advantage of my slow movements by getting into trouble around the house. What are you up to this longlazysunday??

#ProjectMilf: Week 6

11 Go Team Pancakes!

Good Morning my fellow Motivating Inspiring Leading Females (#MILFs)....
we are in Week 6 of #ProjectMilf and it's that time again
to update each other on what we've been up
and what we are getting into next week.
Last week was all about adding something more
to our lives that motivates and inspires us to meet our goals.
Well this week is all about subtracting something away
from our lives which may hinder us from meeting our goals (procrastination) to help us.

And just to inspire us all...Tia Mowry wrote a wonderful article
on her blog this week which was all about her motivating tips
and how she got back into shape after her son.
She is definitely a Motivating Inspiring Leading Females (#MILF).
She will be the inspiration for Week 7...stay tuned!
Now onto Week 5 updates and what I have in store for Week 6.

My Weekly updates:

1) Healthy Lifestyle Change
Woohoo!! I didn't make it to the gym but i did make it to a workout group at my school.  They work out to the Insanity DVDs and that was a serious workout.  My legs are still burning.  And this weekend is the half-marathon, I am so not ready because i didn't train the way I wanted but come next week, I will updating that i finished that race not matter how long it takes me!! I will walk the entire course if i have too.  Last year, I ran the half-marathon while 17weeks pregnant and it was one of the best feelings I have ever had...this year I am running/walking it and feeling almost as empowered.  And the fact that Baby Pancakes gets to be there with me is such a special feeling.

2) Emotional Wellness
I focused on my eating and I was NOT an emotional eater which has been awesome.  Also i need to fit into a bridesmaid dress in less than two weeks.  So i have extra motivation but I should be motivated all the time.  I did find myself thinking of the poem from last week.  I even reminded one of my kids at school that "you are the captain of your soul."

3) Spiritual Fortitude
I didn't do well this week again.  I continue to listen to my gospel music in the mornings.  But i need to do better with my daily devotionals and attending Church.

Sean + Catherine

7 Go Team Pancakes!
I watched the Bachelor from the beginning and I haven't done that since Trista and Ryan. And just like I was invested in the success of those two, I am equally invested in Sean and Catherine. Here's to hoping they were really looking for love and not just fame and fortune! Who doesn't love a good love story. They had me crying yesterday during the sweet. Love is truly grand when you find the one!!

Healthy Monday

7 Go Team Pancakes!
I am in a wedding and i tried my bridesmaid dress on this weekend and the dress does not fit. The store no longer has the size I need, which leaves me less than two weeks to fit into the dress. Therefore, I need to make healthy food and exercise choices for the next two weeks which if you've been following along on my #ProjectMilf journey, Ive been struggling but I am determined. Making healthy choices is a great thing to do on a Monday!! What are your healthy choices today?

Longlazysunday: Week 18

5 Go Team Pancakes!
This longlazysunday it's all about spending time doing a little shopping with little man as my companion. And thank goodness for elevators because there is something scary about taking the escalator with a stroller and a baby by yourself. i know many people do it me chicken but it just seems so dangerous! On a happier note, Baby Pancakes has been having fun at the mall...enjoying the sights and sounds and I feel blessed enjoying this longlazysunday with my son! What are you up to this longlazysunday?

#ProjectMilf: Add Something More

7 Go Team Pancakes!

Good Morning Ladies,  hope you are all doing fantastic this morning.
We are entering Week 5 of #ProjectMilf
And this week is all about adding something more to support our goals.
This means to add something to our lives this week
which will enhance our goals in the best possible way.
Sometimes we focus too much on taking away when we are trying
to reach a goal and the idea of adding will help us change our perspective (hopefully)
a little bit about making, keeping and reaching our goals.
Go ahead ladies...share with everyone what you added....what was your something more?

Add Something More

I had all the right intention to add more time at the gym as part of my challenge this week.
And it didn't happen.  What being a Motivating Inspiring Leading Female is all about,
I am figuring out, is about making the choices every. single. day.
that is going to motivate and inspire me to be a leader in my life.
I am the captain of my soul.
I can have the support of my husband, running buddies and my #ProjectMilf ladies,
however it I do not make the conscience effort and choices
to achieve my goals then none of this will not work.
I will not become the Milf I know i can be.
This week is all about adding something more...
and i probably added more SABOTAGING and PROCRASTINATING
(find out more here) this week than in all the weeks.
But at least I recognize it and call it for what it is.
I need to add more empowerment to my life.
I am stronger than weaknesses.
I need to add more organization to my food plans throughout the week.
I need to remember the Invictus poem by William Ernest Henley
because I am more in control than I think:

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeoning of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

My Weekly updates:
This week, I "sabotaged" and "procrastinated" on my goals.
But here are my uninhibited updates.

1) Healthy Lifestyle Change
TOTAL AND UTTER FAIL...i am sabotaging more than i care to admit.  This week's challenge was definitely helpful because it helped me to add more introspection to what is causing me to do the things i am doing.  I know i am stronger than this sabotaging ways.  On a good note, I started my new job and a new evening routine and that has been going well, Baby Pancakes and I are in bed usually before 930!! A bright spot in an otherwise dismal week.

2) Emotional Wellness
The hubby and I had an awesome time together this week which adds to my emotional health.  We attended Marriage Ministry and since last Friday we have been pretty close together.  And also we've been talking and discussing our family goals and I think just being on the same page about this has helped us come closer together.  And this makes me real happy!

3) Spiritual Fortitude
I was just OFF this week.  I didn't do a very good job of following my Bible Plans.  Although, every morning I do pray.  And I have been listening to some gospel music in the morning on the way to work.  This really centers me.

Mini Goal this week (thanks Mrs. Rolex for the mini-goal idea)
is read the Invictus poem and to JUST MAKE IT TO THE GYM!!

Now it's your up, grab the button and share:
your Motivating & Inspiring Leading Female Idols
and your weekly updates on your Milf goals!!

Snow Day...

6 Go Team Pancakes!

Good Morning...
The perks of working at a school...
Just found out there is a snow day...
Woohoo No School...
Growing up in Canada, even when there was a feet of snow
we would be going to school but that doesn't mean i do not LOVE a good snow day.
So this morning...I am going to cuddle in a little bit more,
maybe drink some hot chocolate and relax...
well at least until Baby Pancakes wakes up.
Maybe we will go out and play in the snow.
It makes getting up in the mornings all the worthwhile...almost!!
If you have snow in your area safe!
If you have a snow day...enjoy!
If you are working today...have an awesome day too.

Health Insurance...

0 Go Team Pancakes!

Sometimes there is no telling when something is going to become important to you until it happens.  I am talking health insurance.  Since having a baby some things are more important than others.  And that is definitely one of the things that is very important to me.

Since I changed jobs, my insurance has yet to kick in. And honestly i had no idea that my previous insurance would only be active until the end of the month.  My current insurance will take a month to kick in and of course I didn't want to do Cobra because it's too expensive.  I wish someone would have told me this before I changed jobs. Just the idea that I could be without insurance in this country scares the crap out of me even if its only for a short period of time.  For some reason when you begin a new job, insurance should kick in right away. I'm just saying that would make more sense especially if you have children.  One of the things I should have done before changing jobs were all my doctors’ appointments including dental like the good folks at TMJ dental Carmel IN. Of course everything is always 20/20 in hindsight….if I had known what I know now….i would have done things differently.  That’s the lesson of the day ladies and gents.  Learn from my mistake and always make sure you have health insurance.
