OMG Moments: An Attitude of Adversity!

I didn't join any of the Thanksgiving Challenges and i wish i had...
so instead i will try and share some things from Sunday church service
that inspires me to say OMG--oh my goodness--that was good!
This morning i wanted to inspire myself and hopefully someone else.
I love our pastor because he is a preaching and teaching man.
He is able to put a scripture into such a context that sometimes i sit there in awe of the Word.
And Sunday was exactly that.

The scripture was Numbers 14: 1-10.

Some of the lessons from the scripture:

1. Acknowledge the trails in our lives-"it is what it is!"
No longer deny the reality of our situation

2. God is always there with us during our trails and tribulations.
He is working for the our good

3. God is able
God is bigger than our problems
God has not given us the spirit of fear but of love and power

4. Step out on faith (and claim your mountain)
God requires some action from us

This message resonated with me in so many different ways.
Sometimes a Service can do that to me.

These are some other thoughts that resonated with me-OMG moments:

1.  Adversity comes our way so we may be stronger.
2. We may be broke, busted and disgusted
but we are created to worship Him regardless of our circumstances
3. We worship and praise you because of who you are!
4. Maybe the door is closed because God does not want for us what's on the other side (OMG!)

Sometimes God speaks to us through the simple statements...and i am glad i was listening!

Enjoy your Monday ladies!

Really great post! I really needed to hear this especially since my post this morning wasn't a usual cherry, sunshiney one. Let's hope #4 isn't what God is saying to me. Lovethe adversity saying. Happy Monday!

love this. i love #1; personally i try and look at life like this and you always have a choice: you can either let a situation control you or you can control the situation. i prefer the latter :)

That's a great quote about adversity and using it as a positive tool. Thanks for the inspiration!

I love when a message really really inspires me! I always feel like it adds fuel to my (spiritual) fire. :) This was a wonderful message and I'm so glad you shared! Doesn't life feel so much better knowing that there is a reason for everything?
Happy Monday!

Good point. I try not ever to ask why me, if not me it would have been someone else. I always try to accept what has happened, learn, and move forward. It's the best anyone can do.

I really love your header - have I told you that already? (well now you know) I love going to Mass and coming away feeling like I've really learnt something :) I must confess though, we had planned to go to Mass on Sunday but we ended up going to the office instead!

Well this was certainly something I needed to read for what I'm stressing over tomorrow.
Thank you for this!! I love a good lesson being taught!

It's wonderful when a service is so powerful and stays with you long after it's over. I'm a worrier and stepping out on faith is so important.

I love the revamp! #4 is so powerful and truly resonated! Things aren't the way my hubby and I really want them right now financially and we're living in a small townhouse since we just changed states, but that's why I celebrate the good stuff all the time. Thanks for this post! 'They' say when you see yourself complaining, see what you're have to be thankful for.

I definitely believe that everything does indeed happen for a reason. Somtimes we don't want to accept it right aweay but over time we do.

oh I love this! My bf isn't religious at all so I haven't been able to keep up my spiritual life as well as I'd like, so this was like a nice visiting sermon right to my home :)
