Happy Monday Ladies!
Welcome to another lovely week.
Here's what i am thinking this morning...
I don't think Mr. Pancakes married me solely for my cooking...
thank goodness because i am not the greatest cook in this part of the country.
Don't get me wrong, i can throw down if i need too
but i would probably lose in a cooking contest.
Really though the only person that needs to enjoy my cooking is Mr. Pancakes and he usually does.
Needless to say, i was cooking up a storm over the weekend.
I had three burners going including the stove.
I was doing my thing.
When all of a sudden i heard this noise...
beep, Beep, BEEP!!!!!
What? Huh?
And then i heard a female voice say:
fire, Fire, FIRE!!!
Huh?
What fire?
And who said that?
Come to find out our fire alarm system speaks
and she says, "fire, Fire, FIRE!!!"
Apparently even when there is NO fire.
Seriously, i know i said i was a bad cook...
But that fire alarm system lady was lying when she repeatedly said, "fire, Fire, FIRE!!!
I haven't burnt anything while cooking in such a long time...
and was completely upset by the lady's harsh and incessant comments.
Maybe my stove was a little dirty and giving out fumes that smelled like smoke
BUT as a newlywed i have not burned anything in the kitchen.
And i am proud to say, "there's NO fire in the kitchen."
The only fire in my house is the one between the hubby and i, thank you very much fire alarm lady!

Because if i had burnt anything since becoming a newlywed
(usually because im not in the kitchen)...
i would have confessed it before as a secret newlywed behavior.
Really, i would!

LOL - My fire alarm doesn't speak, thank HEAVENS.. It just beeps.. As scary as i am, I would have JET so far out the house out of confusion.. LOL.. That's hilarious.. Well, at least now you knwo there's a fire lady around to keep you safe.. : )) Maybe you can name her too : )) lol..
Ha ha mines doesn't speak but I'm sure that was a crazy experience. This is such a funny story especially how you described hearing the female's voice and saying "I haven't burnt anything while cooking in such a long time". But I'm glad it wasn't a fire. Well at least in the kitchen...Keep the flames burning between you and the hubby!
Oh goodness gracious, i would freak out if i heard my fire alarm speak, lol. But no, my fire alarm does not speak. It is just very annoying. If there is a little smoke the whole house is burning down. I'm like seriously. My fire alarm is like the boy who cried wolf. How am I ever going to believe it if there is truly a fire?! ahhh.
I burned white rice a few weeks ago. I was pissed, haha.
I don't think our fire alarm speaks, I changed the battery in one this weekend and it does beep. Its that incessant constant beep when the battery needs to change. I think I would prefer if it spoke. Then perhaps it could say "battery needs changing, battery needs changing" instead of that annoying constant short beep every few minutes that you're never able to pinpoint which fire alarm if came from because the minute you stand under one it seems like it was coming from the one you just left standing under....arrrghh! Lol!
LOL - I would tell that smoke detector a thing or two! What an advanced lil device you got there! ha!

LOL -- We have an alarm system that beeps and speaks, but ours is a male voice. It freaks me out whenever they test it!
haha! Ours just beeps incessantly...and I've had a few times when the oven got a tad bit too hot and when I opened the oven door the fumes set of our alarm! Thankfully it hasn't ever meant completely burning anything!
Too funny! Our fire alarm is linked to our alarm system and it will send for the fire dept if we don't respond to it.
I fear that one day they will show up because of too much smoke or steam in the kitchen. lol

You got yelled at by your fire alarm!! Too funny. Nope mine doesn't speak. I didn't know they had any that did.
I don't think mine speaks, but I don't know. That would've freaked me out too!

Oh my goodness too funny... Ours doesn't talk. But I have burnt a LOT lately, especially being pregnant... ha! Love it!

I would have totally freaked out! Hearing a random voice in your house AND having it yelling "FIRE!" would scare the crap out of me! lol... Glad it turned out okay, though.
hahahah this post is too funny. my alarm doesn't speak! thank goodness! i do hate it when the fire alarm goes off though. freaks the hell out of me everytime. my poor dog too. he's traumatized by it. lol
CRAZY and also kinda nice....if there WAS a real fire!! mine doesn't speak, but it does have a siren so loud, I'd be surprised if it didn't resonate into outer space!
LOL this totally made me giggle! I don't know what I'd do if this voice came out of nowhere! No, mine is just a beep...no talking ceilings for me!
LOL, thankfully my does not go crazy! However, Brutus HATES smoke so whenever things get a little, ehhem, burnt in our kitchen Brutus rings the bell to go outside to get away from the smoke, haha!
You are hilarious. I think I totally would be annoyed more than freaked out, especially when I am in bed and I heard this. :)

wow how modern we just have an old school beeping one which is pretty annoying. we have to wave the broom in front of it some times.

I am not sure if my fire alarm has a female or male voice. In my condo I have an electric stove and fingers crossed we've not had a fire in my building. Glad to hear everything is ok!
Hahahahah! Okay, I confess that I have burned an item (or two) on the stove. However, my fire alarm doesn't speak! It just beeps very loudly and annoyingly! :) Your fire alarm is so awesome!
