Dressing Like A Wife.....

Since becoming a wife, i have decided to dress differently.  Not that i was inappropriately before.  But i have decided to put myself together more properly when going places like church and other outings like family celebrations.  Dressing like a girlfriend and a wife should be different, i think.  There should be a level of sophistication that comes with dressing like a wife.

Kate Middleton, i think is a great example of dressing like a wife.  I know, i know, she has to dress a certain way because she is being scrutinized by the public.  And she has attendants to help her make decisions about her outfits and her hair (which always looks flawless) however she carries it off so well.  She is able to put pieces together that are both classic, sophisticated and just plain lovely!  Additionally, she dresses for her age and manages to keep things sexy!

(Her weight since becoming a wife is a completely different story.  She has lost so much weight and it doesn't look as healthy as before but i do like the clothes).

Here are a few of my inspirations from Kate. The hats are not my thing but the dresses are fabulous!
We had our weddings a week apart so i feel we are kindered spirits.

Is there a wife out there that you enjoy their clothes and style?
It could be anyone...including yourself!

She is one beautiful lady. I personally don't think because you become a wife you have to necessarily dress differently. I think as I age I might dress differently though! Have a great "pancakey" day!

she is so stunning!! I can't get enough of her preppy, classy, chic style. We are the same age, so I am looking forward to following her as my style icon through the years.

I love her style and her clothes. I wouldn't have any place to wear half of the things she does but I'd love to have 'em anyways.

I adore her style and also the style of Michelle Obama. These two ladies are always pulled together. My own personal style is what I admire most - mainly because it's me!

LOVED this post!! And, love Kate Middleton's style too. The only thing I would suggest is for her to upgrade her shoes. Maybe add some Jimmy Choos or Christian Louboutin. Her shoes are a little boring. Ha! However, she is an incredible lady.
Have a great week, and LOVE your blog!

I love Michelle Obama's clothing choices. I don't think I dressed any differently after getting married. But I am more careful with my clothing choices now that I am almost 50!!!

I think dressing differently for me has had more to do with getting older than it has with my marriage. But then, I did get married just shy of 19 so I was pretty young and still learning how to dress for my body type. Since I've started graduate school, my wardrobe has changed significantly and now as a PhD student, I am definitely more aware of what my clothing says about me. Dressing my husband, though, is a different story! It took me a couple years to convince him that collared shirts were a good idea but he's a great dresser now. :)

Enjoyed this post and especially the pictures of Kate because she always looks super cute and classy. Agree that wives and girlfriends or single ladies for that matter should all dress differently but at the end of the day women should dress modestly period.

Big fan of Kate! Sometimes she dresses older than her age though. Pic #4...too matronly. Pic #2...perfect!

I understand what you are saying my friend now that you are married but remember we as Christian Woman of God must be more and more like the Proverbs31 Wife...the jewelry she wears is adorned by the love of her husband...yes we must dress proper but it's not the clothes we wear that makes us noble it's the heart we have...amen...so my friend you dress with being decent and don't be worried about the glitter and things...for they only last but for a moment...wear what lastest for eternity...God bless you

She looks absolutely gorg is every shot... Love her! I never thought of it in that way, but I guess I can see why a wife should dress differently than a girlfriend. Does this mean I'll have to stop wearing mini's if/when I get married?

She has a gorgeous sense of dressing. In some case I reckon some have to dress according to their status as being a "missus".

I confess that I am quite lost. Not sure if I should dress like a missus or my age. LOL

I think Kate dresses amazingly. Her style is fantastic.

I absolutely agree with you about a girlfriend and wife dressing differently. I didn't think about it much when I got married (was 19) but after a few months my husband actually made a comment to that affect and it did make me think.

Joining you from Welcome Wednesday. Loving your blog!

@Alicia, I would definitely wear a mini skirt if I was comfortable.

She does have a wonderful style - especially knowing that she has to buy her own clothing AND she has certain "rules" imposed by the Queen on what is considered appropriate. I thought she had lost weight - but I wasn't sure. Hopefully she'll find her rhythm and things will mellow out for her.

Thanks so much for joining the Tuesday Train!
