My iPhone is Sick!

When Mr. Pancakes surprised me with my iPhone 4, i was really pumped about all the fun and exciting things that i can do! Like talk on the phone and check email at the same time.  The two way camera. The iPod with all the music i wanted.  And of course the one million available apps.   I was just excited.

However, 8 months into owning my precious iPhone and it's started to act up!
Today for no reason, it just shut off! Imagine my shock and horror at this action.
I was devastated.  I was unable to access my phone.  I would check my email and the screen would go blank.

Like a sick baby, i took it to the AT&T (store) hospital where they (operated) reset it by holding the sleep/hold button and the power button until the phone shuts off.

Press and hold sleep/wake button
Press and hold home button

Of course, he does this and the phone is magically restored! I can access my phone and email again!
Of course i have lost all of my Apps that took me hours to search and add! As much as i love my iPhone and cannot live without it, i hate all the other technical stuff that are beyond my control!

The iPhone is definitely a smart phone but man it's frustrating when it doesn't act so smart!
Or does the smart phone make me not so smart?!

Have you had any challenges with your phone recently?
What kind of smart phone are you working with?

I have an EVO which is a Droid. The screen is currently cracked, but its still usable, the problem is for some reason the phone keeps shorting out batteries so my battery is completely dead as in no resurrection. Word on the street is that Sprint is soon to get the iPhone so I have been holding on to my upgrade so I can get it. So for now I am with my old trusty Blackberry. Not sure how much longer I will be able to hold on!

I've got an ancient iphone. It works fine (so far). lol. I'm sorry you had some phone trouble but I'm glad it's resolved.

Gosh, I am always having issues with my phone but I kind of blame it on my not-so-tech-savy ways. I have a MyTouch (which may be TMobile's versions of the Iphone but not as cool). I think its too smart for me though.

I think my husband and I are the last people on the planet that don't have Iphones...and I want one real bad! I will just have to be patient.

That's exciting for you though.

Ooooh, no smart phones for me! I'm about as technological as a turtle! But it is impressive how many amazing things you can with an iPhone.

I've had my i phone since December. No problems so far. Sorry you lost your apps. Makes me think I should write mine down or something. You know you can take a picture of your home screen? I did it by accident once! That way you could store your home screen as a photo.

Sorry about your phone. That sounds so frustrating!

The other day I was thinking about how much time people now spend trying to fix technical problems. When my computer has internet problems hours of my time go down the drain.

I don't think jealousy truly conveys how I feel when I hear someone has an iPhone! So glad yours is feeling much better though!

I feel your iPhone pain, I've had mine replaced twice at the apple store because of technical glitches and stuff.

I have an iPhone 4, my 7 year old daughter has my old iPhone 3. I had a major issue with the iPhone 3 but none really (knock on wood) with my new one. You do have to do a hard reset on them often and back them up at least once a month. That way your apps and everything else will load back on your phone when you plug into your computer. I love my phone!
