Ironing...

I am not sure how many of you ladies still iron but i wanted to pose a question out there about ironing.  But before i do, i have a back story.  My co-workers and i were chatting one day.  When there is an office full of ladies, there's a lot of down time to chat about all sorts of things.

So there we were talking about doing laundry, dry cleaning and ironing.  I contributed the fact that i have been unable to find my iron in months (although i live in a studio, one would think i would know where everything is) and haven't been able to iron some clothes in the morning.  Most of Mr. Pancakes clothing items goes to the cleaners.  And the rest definitely do not need ironing.

Another lady chimed in that she has to iron everything, from shirts, to jeans to everything.  Of course, we were all like, "huh? jeans?"

She then proceeded to share that she also...wait for it...irons bedsheets!

Gasp!

The fact that i can wear a crinkly skirt to work made me gasp at the idea of ironing bedsheets.

This is something she has been doing for years.  She understands that it doesn't make sense since as soon you get into the bed, the sheets wrinkle up.  However, this is something she has to do.  The fact that she can also make the best red velvet cake makes me think of Martha Stewart.  Ironing bedsheets is such a Martha Stewart thing to do.

Therefore, ladies, my question this morning is:

Do you iron your bedsheets?
Would you iron your sheets?

My answer to both question is an emphatic NO!
But maybe i should find my iron for the skirt!

Ironing bed sheets seems like a waste of time! You're going to lay on them! And they are UNDER your comforter. The only linens I could see ironing are table cloths, and that is just if it's a special occasion lol

sis I use to iron my clothes when I was in my 20's after I had my daughter I stopped ironing, it takes a lot of time to iron. what I do now is just before the clothes come out of the dryer I get them out so they don't become wrinkle if they happen to be wrinkle then I will have to iron..can't go around with wrinkle clothes.

My mother would iron when we was small kids she would sing and we kids would sit under her feet it was also so calming and relaxing to her mom sing.

Ironing bedsheets...thats crazy talk. Like you, I barely iron my work shirts. Hang them up as soon as they're out of the dryer and I'm good to go! I do, however, know a woman who irons bedsheets and undergarments. Seriously!

I don't have time in my day to iron bed sheets....heck, I usually throw my too wrinkly to wear clothes in the dryer before I put them on & send hubby's uniforms to the cleaners so I don't have to iron them.

Heck no!!! I would not iron my sheets. My pants and shirts are lucky if they get the iron treatment.

Bed sheets is EXTREME! Wow. Kudos for her for her effort I suppose though! I can't imagine taking the time to iron the sheets. I have ironed shirts and pants before for a nice event, and I don't mind ironing. Bed sheets tho..eh - nope.

I used to just to have them smooth. I don't at the moment because I don't have an iron board. That's is my next purchase :).

I don't even own an iron. My clothing tends to not wrinkle :) So you can guess that I would never iron bedsheets, what a waste of little free time I have! lol

I don't iron my bedsheets or jeans...but I do do our pillowcases...but there is a reason for that. I put some pillow spray on...and if I iron it...it helps the spray linger...and the pillow case isn't damp.

I iron a lot of things...but bed sheets is a no....mostly because I put a cover on top of it so you can't see the wrinkles...BUT I also take them out of the dryer asap.

I hate ironing and do not iron my bed sheets, but there are some thing that I know would look better if I did Iron them! It takes sooo much time to do just one shirt!

We don't even own an iron at the moment, which is probably because for 6 years I had to help hubby by ironing his military uniform (almost on a daily basis). Even if I did own one, there is no way I would iron my sheets.
