Christmas Greetings...

Good morning ladies...
3 more SLEEPS 'til Christmas...it's almost here...
hope you are ready and NOT stressed.
Now onto today's post.

So how did you send Christmas greetings to family and friends?

I heard a commentary on the radio the other day about
the tradition of sending Christmas cards becoming obsolete.
And it's place, more and more people will be sending e-cards and text messages.

Can you imagine NOT sending lovely Christmas cards?
Featuring lovely pictures of you and your loved ones in your finest clothing doing fun things?!
There is something magical about receiving cards in the mail...
especially Christmas cards like the ones below:

If it wasn't for Christmas cards, we wouldn't have received this lovely card from my mother!
It just made both of our hearts sing...Mr. Pancake's first son-in-law card!

The other day, I received a lovely Christmas card from my blogger friend,
Claire, and it completely made my day!
This is the reason why sending Christmas card greetings are so awesome!

E-cards are not bad however it just seems so impersonal!
Text messages is just not appropriate way to send someone cheerful Christmas greetings.
Phone calls are awesome...you can't CALL everyone but at least some people like your grandparents.

Team Pancakes was uber excited to send our first Christmas cards as a family
and we cannot wait to continue the tradition of sending out our Christmas greetings.
We will probably make phone calls but will NOT be sending text messages and or e-cards!

Team Pancakes sent the card above of course with our finest pictures!

Question of the Day
How are you and your family sending Christmas greetings this year?

Please let me know if you would like to join a linky party after Christmas?
It will be an awesome way to get to meet new friends for the new year...
email me here: dapancakes@gmail.com

...now go wrap the rest of your gifts...and i will do the same!

i make my own christmas cards every year and although i took pics of my daughter, i forgot to send them out! oh well, more pics for me to put up around the house.

i enjoy making cards; i enjoy getting creative and card making is really the only thing i'm good at, creatively speaking.

I've sent over 70 cards this year! Where I live it's not customary to send cards with your picture on, you just buy cards with a tree or other Christmassy themes :)

And yes, I prefer the real cards too!! We've received 14 so far! It makes me so happy :)

I love receiving picture christmas cards. It's nice to see how people change over the years. We sent out over 100 cards.

(thanks for stopping by my blog. I love new visitors!)

We send out Christmas cards each year but there is always that thought of why the hassle when I know people toss them out. Postage vs. free internet cards.. I'm guilty myself of reading, saying aww, then ditching them unless there is a super cute picture to keep.

I cannot abide those Christmas and New Years mass text messages.

I send a few Christmas cards and I don't mind Christmas emails.

I was so busy that I didn't get around to taking pictures to make Christmas Greetings. I think it's great and the tradition should continue however most people send text messages. I do hate Christmas and other holiday text messages but I do reply to those I'm close to.

This year it was hectic so I sadly only sent Christmas cards to a few friends and my family. But as a bonus they all got surprise graduation pics of my son! :) Everyone was really happy about that.. I USUALLY have my cards done by the 2nd week of Dec and mailed and it's usually around 40+. I am with you, no mass texts, I LOVE getting cards and sending them! I only received a few this year so everyone else must have been really busy too, LOL!

I thought the Christmas card sending was low this year until I got a whole bunch today! That makes me happy, and we did send ours out too! :)

I love holiday greetings no matter what form they take. Just being remembered is important to me!

We sent cards out like usual and we will send texts or emails to friends in Russia (it was rare to get a card there unless it was delivered in person)and we will make a few phone calls too.

Personally, I love it when my phone blows up on New Years with greetings...it's fun!

We'll do a New Year's card but sent a small family photo greeting card just to our parents and my grandmothers. I LOVE getting Christmas cards and I agree NO texting. I wish I could return to sender any texts I receive on holidays. SO impersonal but if people text me I text back ;-)

Thanks so much for visiting my blog!

Your family is gorgeous. I don't send out Christmas cards usually but this year I did because they came free with a package I'd received with family pictures. I don't send them because I'm so bad with cards myself, they end up in the trash because I don't know what to do with them after the occasion is over.

Oooh, I hate mass texts!!!

***And I obviously just saw that that was NOT your family. LMBO****

I have to completely agree....we only received 5 Christmas cards this year. We usually receive WAY over 10!!! I could never send an e-card. I love receiving snail mail and love the tradition of Christmas cards!

I missed getting cards out this year! I even considered doing a family pic/have a blessed 2012 card. I still may do that one since those could go out in January. There is a special feeling that comes in a greeting card at the holidays - hope yours are bright!

Lovely Blog Mrs. Pancake.

I do write postcards. And I send Messages. And I think I'm always on the phone on the days before Christmas. There are always friends to ask for recipes, last minute gifts or decor advice.

But I do love to send postcards. I feel like I'm hugging the person who's reading it and like to put words that makes the receiver think the same.

Wishing you a Blessed and Merry Christmas,

Teresa

P.S. All wraped and ready, just waiting for the Birth of The Lord.

I've been sending about Christmas cards since I was 15 to family and friends. It's just something about sending an actual card and not a text, FB message or email that really proves that you care. Yea, it takes a little more effort but that's what caring and Christmas are about.

The holiday season is a time to not be selfish and think of yourself but to think of your loved ones and show them the love that Christ showed and still shows us.

My family used to send out cards but we stopped after we all got older. This was the first year I decided to send them out to my friends. I have to say it was so fun surprising friends with cards...and even a few sent some back :)

Gkad you enjoyed my card :) I sent overseas cards this year but cut down on the cards for local people that i see all the time, and i made a donation to The Donkey Sanctury because i figured that was a much more useful way of spending the money. Donkeys need he carrots and hay :)

I love sending & receiving cards, but this year I have to confess I let some very disappointing news steal my Christmas joy for a bit & I got off track. Now I am back on track but ran out of time....BUT you inspired me maybe I can do New Year cards. ;)
