Let's Clear the Air...

In speaking of making SMART goals yesterday..i wanted to clear the air on blogger.

Via

Before the new year, 2012, comes along, i thought it would be a positive thing to clear the air.
You know let out some air out of the things that bother us in the blogging world.
You know there are a few things that bother you in blogland.
And why would you want to carry those bad, negative and yucky feelings into the new year?
Don't you want to start off the new year fresh...
with new and happy thoughts and goodwill towards bloggers?
Don't you want to live your life with intention and purpose?

I know for me there are a few
and so in order to become a better blogger and reader of blogs in 2012...
i wanted to clear the air.

Here is what i want to let out:

1) If someone reads your blog daily, please comment on their blog at least once a month
2) If you are a fashion blogger, help me better understand how to put styles together
(tnx B, udothis amazing!)
3) Don't hate on other bloggers (so not cool)
4) Check your spam on your comment page (i have been trying to comment for a while now and my comments never show up...that's annoying and wastes my time)
5) Someone please develop a comprehensive Blogger For Dummies book
(i still haven't learned how to make a button)
6) If you are going to plaster your baby's pictures on the Internet...PLEASE protect your pictures!
7) If you are really annonymous...please DONOTCOMMENT and try to advertise on my blog...
they go to SPAM anyway!!!

That was it...
Now i can take a deep breathe and let it ALL...just...go...

But honestly, blogging has been such a wonderful part of my life in 2011
and i hope it continues to be for many more years to come!
In blogland, i have found women who are like-minded: married, loving themselves, their spouses, valuing marriage and family, setting goals, reaching for them and making their dreams come true.
In blogland, i have met strong women as part of my support group.
In blogland...i have truly found some parts of myself i lost when i stopped writing.
And for this i am thankful!

In everything, there is the good and bad.
And i will take it all in blogland with a smile.

Whew....glad i cleared the air.

What about you...
What bothers you in blogland?
What would you like to let out before 2012 rolls around?

because whether you like it or not...2012 is less than 48 hours away!

p.:s Just a side note because i didn't want to get too personal
but honestly this is an awesome activity to do for other areas of your life too.
There are always some negative & yucky things we are carrying around
and it is so healthy emotionally, physically and psychologically just. to. let. go.
So before 2012 comes along,
close your eyes,
clear your heart,
 let it go!
JUST LET IT GO!
& Let GOD if you believe!

Cute post! As a newbie I am still learning about the blogging world but I completely agree on the commenting at least once a month, it's just common courtesy!

I am loving this post! I agree there is sooo much we all need to let go from 2011 to have a fresh start. Wishing you many blessings in 2012.

say it louder, girl. bad blogging etiquette is no bueno!

if you want, send me some pics you'd like to make into a button. i did that for another bloggy pal. warning: i'm not a creative genius by any means but taught myself how to use photoshop and manipulate images.

happy new year!

Love your list. especially point 6, i am going to protect my family's pictures even more.

love the list! Your comments use to go to my spam but I made sure I fixed that by approving them. :) I get a ton of spam but I still check because some good comments are in there. Great point!
I totally agree if I stalk a person's blog at least show me an ounce of acknowledgement. That is all I ask.
So glad you cleared the air!

getting offended when someone leaves a comment in a tasteful manner that you dont agree with AND THEN making your blog private!!!
if you didnt want the world to read it in the first place, then it should not have been out there...

Happy new year when it comes. (I've taken a mini break until the new year)

Hahaha, I love it! A good vent sesh is definitely necessary sometimes! I agree, the blogworld overall is a fabulous place, but sometimes I think it's hard to navigate this new high tech world we live in.

As a new blogger, thank you for this list of blogging "don'ts". Wishing Team Pancakes a very happy, healthy New Year :D

Amen to ALL of that! My least favorite thing is when people comment anonymously on my blog, saying nasty things. If I'm gonna put my name and pics on my blog, where I share my opinion on things, you better leave your name on your comment!
Also, how does one protect their pictures? I suppose I should do this since I put pics of my niece up online.
Have a great New Year's!

awesome post!

but i need to know, how do you protect your pictures?

Needed to be said. Thx! I do not like when people say "I will follow you" and do not. Ummm...blatantly lying is NOT ok in the blogosphere or any other "phere". I got one snide comment (pretty much a backhanded compliment" on my blog but I just kept it and learned from it. I DID however, let this bundle of positivity know that feedback is ALWAYS welcome, but please make it constructive and not just rude, HMPH. Thanks again for sharing! Happy New Year! =o)

Ha! I had a loevly blogger pal make my button as i am CLUELESS!! Thats what i love about bloggy pals always so helpful.
I really dislike it when people comment but their comment is...shall we follow each other?! I mean really...how old are we?

Whoa, I was just thinking of the same thing this morning when driving to work: just let it go! I'm officially going to work on this so that way I can become less stressed! Hope you have a great New Years!

AMEN!! I think a few things bothered me in the blogosphere but I let them go. I love the start of a new year...just as a love the start of a new week. I'm just anal that way! I am looking forward to following you and the Mr. into your first year of marriage. CHeers!!

I wonder why you go to spam. I read Latorsha's comment and I had the same problem. I'll let it go, as long as its fixed now. Happy New Year!

My pet peeve is getting "follow me" comments...I think it's rude.

totally agree that people need to be respectful and comment back on people who frequently look at your blog. it shows that you really care about those who read what you have to say. definitely do NOT hate on bloggers. and it would be awesome if all those fashion bloggers say why they chose that outfit, where they got their inspiration, and all that jazz. i just love all the things they have to wear!!

This was a great post! I'm ashamed to admit that I am guilty of breaking 1 or 2 of these blog etiquette rules. Go Team Pancakes!

Good on you for doing this Mrs Pancakes! The "follow me, and I'll follow you back" really gets to me! Here's to better blogger etiquette in 2012!

i like authentic comments. i don't like it when i take the time to visit, leave an authentic comment, and then I get an email back (this doesn't count if I asked a question). They should take the time to stop by, at least.

Hello Darling. The best to you in 2012 and funny you should mention Blogging for Dummies, while I don't have a badge for it...I did read the book prior to blogging! I think you mentioned me below? Thank you!
