Embarrassing Pictures of Your Baby Should Not be online!!!!!

12 Go Team Pancakes!

Good Morning Friends...

I am all for people posting pictures of their babies online....
Especially cute cuddly pictures of their babies...
because these babies will grow up someday and want to see the adorable pictures....
And online has become a way to document family pictures...
Kudos to those who share these precious moments
but i don't think embarrassing pictures of your baby should be online?

I worry about others that put embarrassing
pictures and videos of their children online.
Youtube has become the dumping ground for such videos
and personally I am alarmed at parents that do this...
One video of your kid crying or having a temper tantrum may possibly be acceptable
but to post continuous pictures/videos of
your child crying with snot on their faces is just plain disgusting.

And this father should be ashamed of herself.
Embarrassing his baby in this manner.
And in my opinion his inability to have some boundaries for his child...
children cry but they don't have to cry over every little thing.

And the fact that the media including Huffington Post
thinks this father has turned his child's crying moments/tantrums into comedic gold
 should be ashamed of themselves.
I debated whether to put the pictures on my blog but i had to prove my point...
Sorry little unsuspecting cute baby that your dad is doing this to you....

Now of course this father has the right to do what he wants with his baby...
but i have a right to my opinions too especially since
anything online is up for public consumption and debate.
If i could ask this father one question, it would be this:
Would you post embarrassing pictures of yourself online?

Question of the Day:
Am i being totally unfair to this dad?
Or is he just having some fun?

Babylogues: Celebrating 4 Months

15 Go Team Pancakes!

Today marks your 4months birthday.
Tomorrow, 12/29/2012 marks the one year anniversary we officially
found out you were growing in Mommy's belly.
Daddy and I were at the mall when we got the call from the doctor.
We looked at each other, smiled, hugged, kissed
and in that instant Baby our lives were changed forever.
What a difference a year makes.

It seems like just yesterday we were coming home
from the hospital and here we are celebrating 4months.
We've celebrated your first Christmas
and we are going to say goodbye to 2012 and hello to 2013!
And you are doing so much Baby Pancakes...
we are just in awe of how everyday you develop a new skill!
God is pretty amazing at how He plans everything.
This month's photo session was a little different because you were moving around a lot!
Made for a fun time...

Stats
You are definitely over 13lbs and growing everyday.
We have your 4month check-up appointment coming up in a few weeks so I will update this.

Cuddling
You are still the most cuddliest baby ever! And your cheeks are just the softest thing ever
and i love kissing them.  I really do hope you never grow out of this phase.

Eating
You have been doing great with breastfeeding.
I feed you before I leave for work and most of the
day you have pumped breastmilk or formula as a last resort.
When I come home you are so excited and ready to nurse,
I sometime feel guilty for having to work
because it seems like you need me badly still at such a young age.

Sleeping
You are sleeping in your crib every night.
Sometimes in the morning, we co-sleep for a few hours
so mommy can have a few hours of sleep before work while you nurse.
I think it's the best sleep both of us have during the day!
You are still using your Winnie the Pooh lounger...
I marvel at how big you've become since you first slept in it.
We don't know what we are going to do when you outgrow Pooh?
I guess we will figure it out.
You are rolling over so sometimes in your crib I find you in interesting positions.
Sometimes though you look uncomfortable when your arm or leg is caught in between the crib.
I don't know how you do it.

Diapering
You continue to use clothe diapers and appear to enjoy wearing them.
You have not had a diaper rash which is wonderful.
We continue to change you regularly and put lotion on you after every diaper change.
We are thinking we need to add to you diaper clothe selection in the new year.

Clothes
You are wearing some newborn onesies as shirts, 0-3 and 3-6month clothes.
You have moved away from wearing nothing but onesies and tights to jeans, pants and sweaters.
You look so handsome in sweaters!
Mommy has to refrain from buying you clothes
because you have so many clothes all the way up to 12 months!
At this point, you may have more clothes than your dad and I.
I can't wait for you to wear your Jordans!

Family
This month was Christmas and we spent it with my family and you just ate it up.
You met your cousins, aunties and uncles and your AG (Aunty-Grandma) (my older sister who raised me).
You just loved her and bonded with her so beautifully, it was the best thing to see.
At one point during our Christmas party...you were never left alone and was always being held.
You just loved every single minute and second of it.

Baby Milestones
I stopped reading the Baby Books everyday and I'm just admiring all your growth.
It seems like everyday you do something new.
You are now holding and grabbing onto everything.
And 9/10 the item you grab goes into your month.
I keep on thinking you are in the early stages of teething.
You LOVE to stand...any chance you get you want to stand.
You still don't like tummy time but we make sure you have them as often as possible.
You would rather stand the whole day.
You have discovered your arms, legs and toes
and it's just the cutest thing watching you stare and play with them.
Your big cousin Y caught you putting your foot in your mouth while you were holding your toy.
You always want to sit up while you are laying down.
And you are trying to sit on your own but you need a little support.
We use the boppy pillow to help you sit.
You are the cutest little person when you are sitting all by yourself.
Also you have started to hold your own bottle when we are feeding you.
You are so independent...Mommy worries you want to grow up too fast.
But I know there are some things you are doing that I have to get used to...
it's all part of your growing up process.

Firsts
You had many firsts this month including your first Christmas.
We went to visit family in Canada and you had such a wonderful time.
You were the best little man and just loved meeting everyone.
And they had fun meeting you too.
You traveled on an airplane  for the first time and again
you were a trooper even though we had several hours of delay.
You ate, slept and played with us for the most part and we believe you are going to be a traveler!
You saw snow for the first time.
Although we didn't get to play in it because it snowed the morning we left Canada,
you seemed mesmerized by it when you saw it at the airport.
You wore your snowsuit for the first time and looked like a giant cute teddy bear.

Adventures
You LOVE to talk...and i believe you have conversations with us!!
Going to Canada.
Going to a Christmas Eve service.
Attending a Christmas party.
Opening presents.
Sending presents.
Buying daddy Christmas gifts.

Looking Ahead
Laughing (although I've heard it while you are sleeping)
Take family portraits (mommy needs to get organized)
Your blessing at Church.
Plan some Play dates
Continual growth and development in every single way!

Mommylogues
Mommy guilt...more than anything I feel this when I have to go to work.
You look so sad in the morning, it breaks my heart leaving you.
My favorite part of all is coming home to you.  You are so happy to see me.
You always smile when you see me which truly makes my heart sing with joy.
Daddy says you get real sad if I'm not home by 5:15pm
which is about the same time I begin to shut down if I am not home.
We are making it work.  But secretly Baby I want to be home with you.
I'm glad however you are home with Daddy...he is the best and so are you.

I love you to the moon and back!!!!

Babylogues: Celebrating 3 Months

14 Go Team Pancakes!

The fact that I am celebrating your three month birthday is amazing to me.
It just seemed like yesterday you were inside my belly.
Now you are here and growing and developing every single day
in the best way possible.
You have become our ray of sunshine and
we are so proud to be your mama and papa.
It's the best thing ever!!!

Stats
At your two month appointment, you were almost
12lbs and at the right sizes everywhere else.
I am sure you have grown a few more pounds.

Cuddling
Cuddle time is still the best time.
Every morning I ask daddy to cuddle with you a little bit more during the day.
And at night when i come home, we cuddle on the couch.
But my favorite cuddle time is in the early mornings when we are nursing and you hold my fingers.
My heart melts every. single. time.
And lately you have been touching my face and neck which is just so precious...
Saturday mornings we like to cuddle in bed and just stare at you in amazement.
I hope this never gets old.

Eating
Breastfeeding has become so much easier and i am thankful i didn't give up.
Thanks to all my bloggy friends who encouraged me to continue.
It really does get easier!!!
You still get a little excited but mommy is getting used to this.
We nurse when I am home but when you are home with daddy you have been taking the bottle.
I make sure I am pumping so that there is always breast milk for you.
We have been using formula on an emergency basis.
I still wonder if you are getting enough breast milk.
but you seem happy most times so i am hoping you would let me know if you were hungry.
But i think this is mommy being paranoid.
The best part of my day is knowing i have produced enough milk for you.
I am pumping (in addition to feeding you) over 10oz a day!
I remember when I could only pump 1oz after an hour.
The best thing i learned this month is NEVER GIVE UP!!

Sleeping
You still prefer to sleep on your belly.
I was a little worried but you have mastered this beautifully.
You don't really like taking long naps.
You do enjoy a catnap in the morning and afternoons.
I hope you change this habit because naps are sooooo good for you.
We have been going to sleep a little earlier because I had to return to work.
So we try to be in bed between 9:00pm-9:30pm and most nights you will sleep
until 2:30am.  Then you are up again between 4:00am-5:00am.
Then you are ready to begin your day at 7:00am.
I am still waiting for you to sleep through the night BUT i am getting used to your sleeping schedule.
Daddy usually puts you to sleep and this has been going well.
We make sure to say our prayers every night.
We hope to start reading to your evening routine in a few more months.

Diapering
We are still using cloth diapers although we do use disposal when we are going out.
Daddy says you LOVE cloth diapers because they are softer on your skin.
And the best part...your dad washes all your poppy diapers by hand.
Isn't he the best.  WE LOVE DADDY!!!!

Family
This month was Thanksgiving and you met most of Daddy's family members.
And they loved on you.  And you loved on them.
Grandma came to visit for a short time this month and as usual you enjoyed your time with her.
She brought you the cutest toys and clothes.
But best of all, she brought you herself!!
You also met your Church family and that was a wonderful experience.
They all couldn't wait to see you and it was just beautiful to see everyone interacting with you.
You are the youngest member of our Church so you are a blessing and a star.
For Christmas we are going to spend it with my family and that should be a fun and exciting time!

Baby Milestones
You are doing so much...I am in awe of how on the ball you are.
A lady we saw at the store said it perfectly that:
"your antenna is all the way up" and it's so true because you couldn't be more alert.
When mommy speaks to you on the phone you look around for me.
You recognize other voices: including daddy and grandma.
Holding your bottle (another cutest thing ever).
You still hate tummy time but you are making crawling movements.
You are able to sit against pillows and the corner of the sofa unassisted.
You are reaching for toys, faces, and interacting with them.
You have been playing the piano on the iPad...you actually took to this very easily.
We purchased your first electronic book and you love turning the page on them.
You've discovered spitting up and LOVE doing that now.
I am still waiting for you to laugh but you give the BEST smiles this side of the earth!!!
You still enjoy holding conversations with us.
You give mommy the biggest kisses (see picture above!!)
You get so happy when you are excited about something.

BabyLogues: Celebrating Month 1

16 Go Team Pancakes!

Baby Pancakes, today we celebrate your Month 1 into this beautiful world!

So much has happened in your first month
and we are forever grateful for God's mercies on your life.
The month has flown by but it feels like we've had you forever
because you have become such a permanent part of our lives.
And this has been true since we found out we were expecting you.
It's been a joy spending the last month with you.
Sometimes we get giddy thinking about how lucky we are you are ours forever and always.
Everyday brings new adventurous in parenting you and we look forward to it.

We had your one month medical appointment today.
You are doing so well BooBoo!
Here are some of your Month 1 highlights:

Weight: 10lbs, 6oz (you are growing by leaps and bounds)
Height: 22.5 inches (you have grown 2inches since birth)
Nickname: BooBoo, Little Bugger (that's Daddy's name for you), Baby Pancakes
You are Tuesday born which is awesome because in my Ghanaian culture...
you share a day of birth with my Dad.
And your dad is also a Tuesday born which is fantastic.
Looks Like: You are the perfect combination of your dad and I
Pacifier: No thank you!
Eating: Breast milk with formula as a supplement (Similac Advanced with Iron)
You are feeding On-Demand which is every two hours.
Sleeping: Crib but you prefer Mommy or Daddy's chest
You are not a crier...you only cry when you need something like food, diaper change or sleep!

Coming Home
You were in the NICU for three days and that was NOT part of the script.
You had some meconium (baby poop) in your lungs which apparently caused jaundice.
But then they found out you and Mommy's blood were incompatible
and there was some transference during delivery which was not good
so they had to transfer you (via helicopter) to another hospital.
As scary as that experience was, we came to the other side with you healthy.
You are our strong little man...such a fighter you are.
And everyday i thank God for having His Angels with you at all times.

Cuddling
We love to cuddle you.
Best Moment...cuddling in the bed with you!
One of my favorite moments are when you are nursing,
i just love to watch you.  When i don't hold you for a long period of time
(because you are sleeping or with your dad) I miss you like crazy!
I love seeing you sleeping on daddy's chest. It is your favorite place to sleep!

Eating
At the hospital you were bottle fed so initially i wasn't sure if you would do well on the breast.
For the first couple of weeks it was difficult and I would be discouraged but over the last week,
you have been doing amazing.  You have latched and now we are both enjoying the experience.
Sometimes you get overly excited and make the cutest sound when you can't latch properly.
I laugh because the sound brings me pure joy.  You are probably NOT amused but i LOVE it!!!!
Daddy still gives you the bottle so you can have time with him.
Oh and when you are eating..
you like to have one leg out and the other leg sitting on mommy's lap...so cute.
And when the food is really getting good...you have your hands in your hair!!

Sleeping
Oh sleeping...both your dad and i LOVE to sleep but since you've been home...
we realized we still LOVE to sleep!! But nowadays, we sacrifice sleep just so we can tend to you.
The first week was great because you were waking up every three hours but as soon as you got used to being cuddled to sleep...you DO. NOT. LIKE. SLEEPING. IN. YOUR. CRIB.
You will do it but you cry and cry and that breaks my heart.
We give you breaks (because i just can't listen to you cry for so long) and eventually you will fall asleep.  You love when i sing to you (I Love You is one of your favorites).
We start the process around 7:30pm and by 10:00pm, you are sleeping.
Your wake up time is 6am.
You take lots and lots of naps throughout the day.
You love your Winnie The Pooh Lounger!
Although you are becoming more alert during the day which is nice
because we can interact more during tummy time!

Family
You've had MANY visitors over the past month.
Your grandma (my mom) came and spend sometime with you
and I think you loved it because she spoiled you...which was great.
Both grandmas call to talk and ask about you everyday.
Your grandfather (daddy's dad) comes to visit every Sunday and we all watch football together.
Well you mostly sleep and eat while he is here BUT i think you will be more interactive with him this weekend when he comes to visit.
Your aunties and cousins have come by too.
And this weekend, your big cousin from Canada is coming to visit.
He is so excited to see you.
Your great great granny who is 95years-old calls to check on you everyday!
She can't wait to meet you.
The whole Church is excitedly awaiting your first day at Church
and i cannot wait for you to go and meet everyone. You are so loved!!

Fun Facts
**You like to curl up your fingers....we joke around you are a boxer...and ready to box.
It is the cutest thing ever because you usually have a serious look to go with it as well.
**You are wearing still wearing newborn clothes and can fit (although loose) some 0-3clothes.
My favorite thing to see you wear are your white onesies, you are just the cutest thing in them.
**You don't really like tummy time but we do it.  You are most interested in the crawling part
because you will move your legs.  But you do hold your head up really well which is great.
**Your grandma gave you your first bath and that was fun.  You love having your hair washed.
**Speaking of hair, you have the nicest and curliest curls i have ever seen...
mommy loves to play with them.
**We've been out walking and you love this time...you sleep or explore your surroundings.
**You are just so alert and smart...i get excited watching you grow
and cannot wait to see you grow and develop and learn new things.
**You have the best folds ever...neck, legs and arms..

Adventures
**Sometimes your mom and dad feel like NEWBIE parents
and these are our adventures more than yours but i thought i would share anyway:
--Changing your diaper for the first time in public...it was really stressful for me.  But we got it done.
--Giving you a bath for the first time...glad you are so patient with me.
--Putting your car seat in the car for the first time...it took forever!
--Putting your stroller into Daddy's car...it took us awhile to fold it.
--Plus we are thinking we need an SUV/Bigger car someday soon...
you come with a lot of stuff OR is it that we have too much stuff??
--Putting a long sleeve shirt on you...wow...who makes these baby clothes?
(thank goodness for the zipper footed onesie....you look so cute in them)

Looking Ahead:
To your first smile...although i thought you smiled at me a few days ago.
You enjoying Tummy Time.
Sleeping in your crib without a cry-fest!
Attending Church.
Christening.
Using Cloth Diapers.
Continual growth and development in every single way!
Mommy to worry less.

*************************************

All in all, we are having so much fun with you!
We look forward to every single second with you
Your Month 1 has been such a blessing!
