Our was filled with lots of cuddles with Baby Pancakes,
birthday wishes for Grandpa Pancakes,
visit from friends and football.

Thankful Thursday...

I know there is a Thankful Thursday link-up going on somewhere around blogland

 so i thought i would join!

This Thursday, i am thankful for:

1. Traveling Mercies: we made it back safe and sound 

after traveling two countries (US & Canada),

 six major highways, many miles and kilometers...

we are glad to be back home.

2. My niece: who graduated on Tuesday and is going to prom today in Canada. 

 I can't believe how big she is! We are sooooooooooooo proud of her. 

And she can't wait to have her little cousin to spoil.  

3. Friends: who gifted me with some of the cutest items for Baby Pancakes.  

This little man is soooooo loved...i wish that kind of love for everyone!

4. Mr. Pancake's family: who almost called a search party 

when they found out a mall had collapsed in Canada...

thankfully it was several hours and we were safe!  Gotta love family!

5. My Health: things continue to go well.  

We were out and about the entire Babymoon and visits to family and i was able to keep up.   

6. God: for who He is always and forever.

7. Baby Pancakes: for kicking and moving and just having a bowl during the trip.  

I am sure he could feel all the love that was being bestowed upon him.  

Although i think all the cheering from the graduation ceremony was a bit much for him...

too much stimulation!

8. My Husband: for being the best traveling companion, carrying all the bags, 

making sure i was comfortable and enjoying myself, snuggling with me 

and just being awesome as usual! 

And of course for turning 30 and sharing his life with Baby Pancakes and 1.  

We are forever blessed and dgrateful for him!

9. Bloggy Friends: just because you are all awesome! 

Can't wait to catch up on the happenings in your life!

Yes...this is how rumors and good things start in the blogsphere!

Here goes....Currently...

Reading:  Clinical Exam Materials for Social Work.  I have to admit i am slacking a lot in actually studying.   These are moments when my procrastination skills kicks in greatly! I NEED to get with the program because psychological disorders and theories are sooooooo interesting!

Watching:  Movies and lots and lots of movies.  One of the most interesting ones i watched recently was by Laura Linney and Mark Ruffalo entitled: You Can Count On Me.  It was an interesting movie.  Thank goodness for the public library, I've been watching all these awesome small independent movies.

Anticipating: Finally putting together Baby Pancakes' crib and purchasing a stroller!  I had no idea that purchasing a stroller would be such an exciting chore! I am looking at Summer Prodigy, which i am in love with, and a Safety 1st.

Laughing About:  My niece...i spoke with her and her mom on Skype today and she is all over the place now.  Climbing under chairs and trying to get out of her stroller.   I mean she is a mover now!!!  I can't wait to be around her again soon! And of course her smiles makes me smile too!

Listening To: Christian music mostly on the radio when Baby Pancakes and i are driving.  I think he enjoys it.  And honestly there is NO songs out there now that i actually enjoy!  I haven't been keeping up with listening to the radio....im completely boring now because if we are not listening to christian radio, we are listening to the news. 

Eating: Last night i was craving french fries....went to Wendy's and they gave me the worst fries ever!! I should have just waited to find a McDonald's!  

Working On: Time management...i have just been spending waaaaaaay too much time doing everything else i am not supposed to be doing.  Why can't i get it together.  I hope my time management skills gets better when i am a mother!

     Wishing: I could be more disciplined...on some things like time management and studying!  

      That two nights ago i didn't demand for my husband to vaccum the carpets almost 11pm at night!

      I felt like they needed to be cleaned!  I blame it on the hormones!!  I LOVE you hubby!

2. Mrs. Julius of My Sunrise, Sunshine & Sunset

As soon as i came across Mrs. Julius' blog, i was hooked.  

Her and her husband had the most beautiful wedding and honeymoon i have ever seen.  

She is Canadian.  And i just LOVE the way she speaks about her son Marcus. 

 Someday i hope to chronicle Baby Pancakes' milestones the way she does for Marcus.  

They are so beautiful together!

I finally managed to get my butt out of bed...thank the goodness!

1.What's the most interesting or moving book you've ever read?

Oh my goodness...i have read several novels but i would have to say the Bible! 

There is always something interesting and awe inspiring!

2.Which do you prefer the book or the movie?

It depends on the book which has turned into a movie.

 I loved reading Little Women but hated the movie. 

 There are some things that are missed out when I watch the movie.

3.If you could move to anywhere tomorrow, where would it be?

Somewhere hot like Barbados...honestly if we could, we would just pack up and go!

4.What's the one thing in life you can't leave the house without?

My lipgloss...i hate having chapped lips...soo annoying.

5.What's the furthest place you've flown to?

I think Ghana, West Africa would have to be the longest flight--over ten hours

6.If you could be anyone for a day who would it be?

Oprah of course...i want to use her private jet to fly all over and have fun with her money

Laughter...honestly i am always laughing

8.What's been your greatest accomplishment to date?

My Masters degree (i would say getting married but i think God accomplished that one)

Bangers & Mash and Snazzy Scarf Swap!

It's friday, it's Friday, it's FRIDAY!

Now that my excitment it's out of the way...let us talk about today's post title.

BUT let's talk about the Snazzy scarf Swap first.

Remember yesterday's post about how awesome blogland is...well swaps are reason #102,232. 

The lovely and talented writer/blogger Krysten from Why Girls Are Weird

initiated a scarf swap in October because everyone

LOVES receiving lovely things in the mail aside from bills. 

And the lovely things in Autum/Fall include scarves. 

 I love a nice warm snazzy coloruful scarf so i was all over the swap!

And now for the bangers & mash...my swap partner was the lovely Claire from My Little Life. 

 A wife, mommy and an ice cream maker from the United Kingdom. 

Bangers & mash is a lovely English breakfast of mashed potatoes and susages.

Project Pink

{Project Pink} is a fun and touching day

 that Marilyn at The ArtsyGirl Connection invited me to be part of it. 

It's a day to dedicate our blogs to Breast Cancer For A DAY. 

And of course i was more than willing. 

As part of the project, we are supposed to complete a day of Pink projects

I was really emotional for her when i found out she has breast cancer.

Romance Wednesday: Random Romantic Moments!

I am joining The YeYo Diaries and YUMMommy in her Romance Wednesday! It is an opppotunity to talk about the romantic things that you and your significant other are sharing! 

Mr. Pancakes and i have been sharing some random romantic moments through movie date nights.  It is important in marriage, whether newlyweds or married for years, keeping romance alive is imperative.  And Team Pancakes keeps it alive regularly.

We have been having random movie date nights during the week which has been awesome and fun! If we see a good movie  or a UFC fight (we bonded over this during my hospital visit), we will stop whatever we are doing, cuddle on the couch and have a movie date night. 

When i was in the hospital, we spent about four hours watching UFC matches.  This was so much fun (and bloody--i had to close my eyes a few times) and it really allowed us to bond over a male related activity that the man enjoyed.

Then one Tuesday night, Going the Distance was on some movie channel and we started to watch.  We immediately related to this movie because we started off long distance.  Athough it comes across as a girly movie, Mr. Pancakes enjoyed it because it had a lot of the guy humour he finds  amusing! This movie night we did not go to bed until after 1AM.

Then another night, i was watching Love Happens and he joined me.  He was actually making fun of the movie but then he got into it and we enjoyed a sappy romantic comedy together.  After all, all our love stories are romantic comedies anyway!

Recently, we watched another Jennifer Aniston movie, The Break-Up.  I mean, it was so random how we started watching that one.  I was bored of HGTV and WeTV (which he doesn't know why i love those channels) and was flipping the channels and came across the movie.  He joined me after he saw the dinner scene when the brother starts singing.  He thought that was hilarious! And he will say to me, "and babe on the kick drums!"--something silly like that! If you've watched the movie, you'll know what i mean.

Then the other night we caught Grown-Ups. This was fun because it was a mundane Sunday night and we managed to make it a fun night, eating tostitos and enjoying each other's company.  Afterwards, he gave me a hug and said, "i really enjoy our impromtu movie nights!"

Spending these random movie nights together is romantic.  There is a romantic element to the randomness when we can cuddle on the couch and just enjoy each other's company.  I am starting to realize that romantic moments does not have to be planned elaborately.  It can be as random as stopping and watching a fun movie with your man on a Wednesday night.  Or watching one of his guy shows with him.  It's all about the company during those random moments.  Try sometime this week!
