I did not realize that getting back into running would be so tough. I mean don’t get me wrong..I LOVE running…the carefree nature of the whole activity. There is so much pressure on the legs, back and shoulder but of course I wouldn’t give it for anything. Therefore, I was so excited to find out about this great service, which is Spa Tais.
And you know when you find something exciting and you really want to share with your readers. This was one of those services. I love the idea of montreal day spa.
There is nothing better than an awesome day at the spa. Especially now that I am running again. The aches and pains are unbearable most days. After a loooooooong run…all I want to do is lay down and relax and not run again. But of course…I forget the pain and go for another run…only to end with more aches and pains. Therefore, a spa day is always welcomed. I was happy to find out about day spa montreal. What could be better than getting a therapeutic massage including deep tissue and hydro massage. There is absolutely NOTHING better for sore legs than a deep tissue massage.
I cannot wait to get the opportunity to try their therapeutic massages. I know for sure that it will be great for my recovery.

Mommylogues: Working Out With Baby!
Happy Tuesday!!
![]() |
| Via |
I saw this picture...which made me squint my eyes and think "that's just NOT right".
It also prompted me to write a blog post about working out with baby!
I have read all the advice about working out throughout your pregnancy.
The importance of keeping fit because it helps with pregnancy related illnesses,
labor and delivery and also postpartum...after all you need your energy to take care of your baby. Additionally, we all know working out just makes you feel good!
BUT when i see pictures like the one above...
i can't help but think you shouldn't be holding such heavy weights with a baby in your belly!
In the beginning of the pregnancy,
i was working out, running at least two miles, three times out of the week.
I was doing strength training with my free hand weights.
Doing some yoga most days.
Drinking lots of water and taking care of myself.
I ran/walked the half marathon when Baby Pancakes was 17weeks.
And as difficult as it was, i completed the 13.1miles.
With the encouragement and support of Mr. Pancakes.
He met me at various spots to encourage and help me.
At the end of the race, i felt such euphoria.
I felt as if i could do and be anything!
It was definitely an awesome day!
Needless to say after the half marathon, i was SORE for a complete week.
Then i went away for about a week and by the time i returned home,
i had basically fallen off the working out wagon.
I have since slowly gotten back to working out.
Mostly a lot of stretching and strength training with 5/8 lbs free hand weights.
Most days i try to walk a lot during the day.
I haven't been running and or pushing myself to the point of exhaustion.
I feel blessed to have the energy i have most days.
I hope to continue moving all the way up to when Baby Pancakes comes!
The best advice is to work out during pregnancy BUT do so cautiously.
We have to do what we feel most comfortable but it can't always be about the mother.
We have to think about the baby too!
After all we want to stay fit so we can keep up with baby!
I am no personal trainer...just some thoughts on this Tuesday!
Question of the Day:
Am i the only one that was taken aback by the picture?
What was your workout routine like during pregnancy?

Being Sick...
ragged enough that i was sick like a puppy!
Not exactly green+purple+red+orange+blue+yellow sick but
Not exactly green+purple+red+orange+blue+yellow sick but
Nose blowing+eyes watering+head-achy
+in the bed all day=SICK!
I am definitely a miserable person when i am SICK so to help me get over the cold...
i had a few things healing me back to health.
i was drinking Emergen-C like juice...
NOT really but since it was my first time drinking it...
i think it was helpful.
Another dose of Calcium came from Orange Juice
(hopefully it was fortified)...
i love OJ...just so soothing!
And a box of kleenex, the soft kind...and i finished the box in one day!
My poor nose is soooo raw...don't you hate that feeling???
Honestly, the one thing that helped the most was just sleeping-in and resting up...
it does wonders when i am sick.
And of course Mr. Pancakes made sure i had all my supplies before he went to work.
Bless his soul he never gets sick...
thank goodness because one miserable person is all this household needs.
Wishing you nothing today but Health & Wellness!!!!
Question of the Day:
What about you, how do you get over being sick?
Any home-made remedies?

Sometimes You Just Need to Sing...
...a love song to your hair,
especially when you are having a bad hair day!
I love my hair.
In all it's current napturals.
I love my hair.
And sometimes, you just need to whip what God and your mama gave you!
Thank you Sesame Street for always being there
and always making everything so much better!

To Blade,Thread, Wax or to Tweeze!
Hope everyone enjoys their Canada's Day and 4th of July with their friends and families.
I went to get my eyebrows cleaned up. I've never been a lady to go and get groomed on a regular basis. I go and then maintain at home. Since I'm now married, i no longer represent myself but my husband too. Therefore, I give a little extra effort in my grooming so that Team Pancakes can look well at home and in the community:-)

But this episode (of TATP--refer to my blog title) is not about me looking good for my Man Panackes.
This episode deals with making choices when it comes to the maintenance of our eyebrows. I never really groomed my eyebrows until late in my twenties when it dawned on me that perhaps i should. And i did.
My first experience with eyebrow grooming was an African method using the "blade." You use an instrument like the one above and very carefuly and gingerly shave along the hair of the eyebrow. This works when you have someone who knows what they are doing. Since the blade is so sharp, the specialist has to be knowledgeable. The "blade" is effective however it lasts for maybe one week.

My second experience was threading. This hair removal method is of the Eastern world (India). My first time threading, ladies, i cried like a baby! The lady couldn't finish and she asked me to return when i could handle it. Honestly, she did. Needless to say I haven't been back to threading until recently. And it wasn't as bad because (i think) i didn't have a lot of eyebrow hair. The lady shaped it so beautifully, i actually had "an arch"! And the arch lasted several weeks.
My third experience was waxing. This wasn't bad after the first initial shock of your skin peeling off with the wax. Waxing is always easier when it's for a touch-up because then there isn't much hair. But man it hurts when there is a lot of hair! Thank goodness, my eyebrow is fine and thin so it's a little easier.

My experience with tweezing has always been part of the complete eyebrow grooming. That also....you guessed it...hurt like a mama! However over the years, it has become much easier to deal with. I use tweezing to clean up in between eyebrow maintenance. Pluck, pluck anyone. Now I cannot live without my tweezer. I need it like a fat kid needs cake (i stole line that from a song;-)!
This episode of Team Pancakes was to help me reflect on my eyebrow experiences over the years. I am still developing my eyebrow grooming and hope to have an arch that is long and luscious like...

A girl can dream!
In the meantime, I continue to use all the methods, blade, thread, wax or tweeze to grow and make my eyebrows healthier. I do perfer a combination of waxing and tweezing. However when I'm home (in Canada) with my sister (Blade Specialist) i will use the blade. Special occassions (because i want that special touch) i will use threading.
My newlywed eyebrows currently look something like this. I believe Mr. Pancakes is pleased. And i look presentable when i am out in public.
Ladies, what are you doing to maintain your eyebrows?
Which method works best for you?

Sabotage! I truly believe this is what I am doing as I begin my new lifestyle change. Turning thirty brings a whole new ball game to the idea of staying fit, healthy and strong. I am by no means a big lady but I am not petite either. Even before the planning of the wedding, I have been trying to start the healthy living thing seeing that Mr. Pancakes is all about fitness and living healthy. He is always encouraging never disparaging which I believe leads to a lot of self sabotage. I actually don't mind hitting the gym and putting up a sweat. My difficulties involves the eating, portion control and having the right types of food. Don't get me wring of of live a
